Appeal to the IAS with that sign (uploaded as evidence) and say:

I was the driver and I paid the £5 advertised on the attached sign for 12 hours parking.

The offer of 12 hours parking for £5 is unequivocal.  It is a clear invitation and offer made without caveat and that sign does not say that any other terms apply nor does it direct a driver to refer to any terms elsewhere within the car park.  Even if other signs offer something different, the doctrine of contra proferentem would apply to ambiguous terms and the interpretation that most favours the consumer must prevail (Consumer Rights Act 2015).

The crucial thing is uploading your picture before you submit your appeal wording.  That should work but let us know.

No paying it even if you lose at IAS.

    Laughable!  They should be ashamed.

    Ignore it, obviously!

Yeah I intend to i am wondering what's the chances that they'll try and drag me to court?
No one is 'dragged' to the small claims court. It's a dispute resolution session over a relatively small amount. There's no stigma, no sentence, no criminal record. Not all unpaid parking charges result in a court hearing, some result in a claim being made, but subsequently discontinued when a strong defence is mounted, some just fizzle out. Nothing can be predicted with certainty in the Wild West world of private parking.

SIP are mildly litigious, they may be encouraged in your case by their 'win' at the IAS. But defendable and winnable, let's see what their next move is.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Very likely you'll get a claim so keep your address updated with them if you move.

The NEWBIES thread second post already tells you that we win (or the claimant discontinues) in 99% of cases.  And the CRA 2015 is a point of law.
