i'm a new customer (30 day trial) with CD wow hoping to get the free mp3 player. anyone else signed-up and received their mp3 yet?

not looking forward to the cancellation process but will follow advice on here and hopefully it will be easy!

to use these further 3 month free codes do you have to cancel first or can you just continue your free trial? where do you have to enter the code?

    thanks

    Here goes....

    Call me cynical, BUT..........

Ive just finished a FREE 3 Month Trial with lovefilm.

    I cancelled online after 10pm.

I emptied my 'wish list' of all titles.

    I posted all 3 dvds back together.........in 1 envelope!!

    GUESS WHAT?

Only 2 of the titles have been listed as received............ 1 dvd is 'according to them' outstanding (un-returned).

    MMM? How's that possible?

Me thinks they are now going to take a subscription payment from me!?

Me thinks that when they have a months money from me, the 'missing' disc will suddenly re-appear!!

    GGRRRRR

What I always do is with plenty of time.

    Completely empty my rental queue.

Post DVDs back and keep an eye for when it shows they have been returned.

(They do have a habit if you don't empty your queue and cancel before sending back stating at least one has gone missing when in the same envelope).

Once it shows it has been returned, wait until the night when there are no phone staff on and click to cancel your membership.

I usually get about 9 discs per week, occasionally 6 if I've messed up my posting back dates, sometimes 7 or 8.

This is on a 3 at home at a time service.

I signed up to Lovefilm through RPoints and I have to say it is the best thing I have done.

I'm on the unlimited package, all the films I have on my list I want to see so I'm not too bothered about what order I get them in. If there is more than one disc, like a series, I remove all the subsequent discs off so there is just one left. When I have watched it and sent it back, I add it back on my list again and cancel the other discs off except the next disc. Seems to work out well for me.

Quite a quick turnaround on the discs too which I am happy about.

    No problems here

    (a) the monthly rental £4.99 for two films per month.
If anyone is on this Tariff it is too much. I have been forking out £4.99 per month for two rentals for months but only discovered that it is £3.99 currently. If you go to the Membership Options on the MY ACCOUNT you can see the various subscription packages. I was astonished when I saw that by 'changing' my own package I would go onto the £3.99 one. I phone Customer Services - 0870 2401637 - and asked if they informed their customers when a subscription deal is changed and was told that this occurred only when and if the cost went up !! So if you want to save a quid per month and are on the two rentals package just change it. I don't know if the other packages have changed but worth checking !

The cheeky !!!!!!s! I've just accidentally found out about this and did a quick search on the net and found this thread. Looking at the dates, it seems we have been overpaying for at least 6 months! Why didn't they tell us - or better still, automatically put us onto the current rate??? GGGRRRR

They're just like any other company, Virgin Media are the same, existing customers the most unless they call up to cancel and then get better deals, other are the same.

I was with Amazon and now Lovefilm have taken over their DVD rental activity. Not nearly as good as Amazon though. Lots of their films freeze and don't play very well.
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time
