Well i clicked 2 or less but sometimes its 3 days.
When the post strike was on we didn't return them for a couple of weeks then for the rest of that month we got the next DVDs sent really fast. It was like they were sending them quicker because we'd not had many that month. It showed how fast they could do it if they really wanted to IYSWIM ;)

Hope Tesco counts as Lovefilm after all that

Not been having very good experience with them lately for example.
Monday 9am my account shows DVD's returned and awaiting allocation.
Nothing posted to me all day Monday.
    Tues by noon DVD's sent.
Arrive 9am Wednesday, very good have the day off so watch all 3 films (Hey it was a day off) :D DVD's back in the post by last post 6pm.
Thurs 9am website shows DVD's returned and awaiting allocation.
Nothing posted all day Thursday
Friday DVD's posted and I receive them Saturday, I get them in the post by last post on Sunday and Lovefilm get them first thing Monday morning.
The pattern then repeats the following week.
    So i get 6 DVD's a week for 2 weeks.
They say returning all the DVD's in one envelope speeds your order! Rubbish I have tried it all ways, makes no difference.
Cant blame the post because once they are posted either by me or Lovefilm they arrive the next day. Almost without fail.
Seems they deliberately hang on for 24hrs to send out your films. If they didnt I would some weeks be able to get 9 films and at the end of a month thats 36 films instead of 24. Hey its still excellent value for £15 but could be so much better.
Oh and awaiting allocation they cant say they have no stock, i have and keep over 200 films in my list.
    Hope this helps someone

I'v been with lovefilm about three years now and I had no problems at all with them...I cancelled about a year ago...they gave me 3 free months!!

So I joined again, my son also joined up with them, he is happy enough with Lovefilm.

I cancelled today because we signed up to the 18.99 a month package for 3 films/games at home at same time, in the whole 3 months we never received one game, only dvds.

I've recently taken up the 3 month trial, and have the 2nd lot of discs on the way now, and they are sending me 1 DVD and 2 Wii games!
Can someone please verify that once i've watched the dvd, i can send that back on its own for another disc, whilst i keep the 2 games for longer?
Or do i have to send all 3 disks back at the same time?

    Thanks

It doesn't matter how many they send to you in one shipment, you can send them back when you like, and individually if you like. On the website you can request that they send additional envelopes with your next shipment so you can do just that.

I've used Lovefilm for over three years and have had very few problems. They occasionally give offers (last year I was offered a 4-disc package for the price of the 3-disc for several months) and will send gifts (they like to send out small bars of Green & Blacks chocolate).

For people having issues cancelling, try it in off-peak hours. Do it late at night or early in the morning and you won't be asked to call them, you'll just get a couple of 'Are you really really sure?' screens before they cancel the account. They threaten that you'll lose all your lists and ratings, but I've cancelled and resigned up before and all my information was intact.

Some tips for using free trials:

    1. Always empty your queue and return all DVDs at least a week before your payment is due (set a reminder in Outlook or on your phone). Then there's no argument or possibility of 'dirty tricks'.

    2. Use a virtual card for your payment method. I use an Entropay card (www.entropay.com). Just credit it with a few quid and this will allow the initial authorisation to go through. Then there's no danger of any incorrect debits.

    3. Add unreleased new games (and DVDs and Blu Rays) onto your reserved list and you will often get them sent on the day of release.I have GTA IV, Gran Tourismo Prologue and Call of Duty 4 (all for PS3) at home. I got them on the day of release.

I've been using 3 month trial codes for well over a year now.

terrible experience with Love Film. DVD they sent out was unplayable due to scratches and the whole thing was so much hassle.

    Better to go to blockbuster

I've had lots of problems with HD DVD's being badly scratched and won't play. Today got a replacement disc for one I reported that won't play, its even worse condition than the original one I sent back.

I've had a few like that too and if I was paying for the service I wouldn't be too happy. But when its free I can live with it!

    Hi
I signed up for a 6-week free trial in Feb with I Love Film. Because I am wary of these kind of sites, i gave only the visa number of my card and not the expiry date or three digit no. on the back. I was happy with the service I received, but could not afford £12.99 unlimited per month, so went into my account to downgrade it, only to find that they had taken the £12.99 from my bank account. I phoned them and they said that I must have given them the full card details otherwise they couldn't have taken the money, and as I had paid for the month I might as well carry on with it, and as long as I returned the final two discs four days before the next payment, I could then downgrade.

A week before the payment date, despite having received a 24 hour turnaround each time, all of a sudden the final 2 discs took three days to arrive. I also did not receive an email saying they had been despatched which was unusual.

I called them and asked them where the discs were and they assured me they had been sent out. I explained that I probably wouldn't be able to get them back in time for the downgrading of the account so they extended the payment date.

BUT - given that a) they had taken the original money from my Visa card, despite assurances when signing up that this was not possible and b) the suspiciously late delivery of the final two discs I have decided I no longer want anything to do with them.

I called my bank about the original Visa debit and they said that there are 'layers' of 'payment without card being present' payments and this one went through as a mail order delivery. I was advised to fill in a Visa dispute form in case anything else went wrong. Meanwhile I have cancelled my card. Also, when the discs arrive I am sending them back by registered post.

I must say that I am fed up with this - the service was very good, and the company have ruined it by messing me about like this. Still, they are the losers. My advice - don't bother with I Love Film.
