  • hi
have expressmobiles gone bust as i sent email to them and they sent one back
can anyone help me with is confusing item about EM

they sent contract with phone for o2 £45 12months
o2 confirm this yet EM say 18 months
so that means another 12 months so EM get their 18
so who is right and who has the contract

    thanks
  • hi, i am also in same boat. just called the 0870 no and it appears it is now dead! so what happens now? i suppose i'll have to try and get some sense out of orange, but that looks highly unlikely given other posting on this thread!
  • Just tried to call all their numbers and there is a recorded message saying 'please inquire through website-and gives the website adress' .... something funny is definately going on-I wonder what we can do now...
PS-did anyone here who said they received cheques actually get them cashed?
  • hi
i have just spent a bit of time on phone to o2 and spoke to a nice lady who was interested in this so called cashback
i told her that expressmobiles gave me a contract for 18 months yet the contract that they did with o2 was for 12 months so on checking my tariff it is for 12 months with o2 and not 18 months and i was to just keep to the 12 months and cancel disregard what expressmobiles say as they made the contract with o2 and not me and cannot claim 6months that they say is owing them
so it pays to talk to your provider and see if your contract is for 12 months
all cashback deals that are about are run by company called telco was told this by o2 retail services

i idea thought may work was for unpaid chequeback that that amount up as contract time (eg.unpaid £120=3months from 18 months=15months left)i am sure you get my meaning
  • Wow and here was me thinking i was the only mug who had been conned!!!! I could cry!! lol!

I took this stupid contract up on an 18 month basis, did everything as they ask me to send bills in evry three months etc. Believe it or not i actually managed to squeeze one cheque out of them but that was just before they were about to call me a stalker!! I was on their case calling them every single day. I was getting told something diffirent everytime, first it was 'your cheques has been posted today' then it didnt arrive i called again they said 'your cheque has been raised and is just waiting to be signed' then someone said they didnt have my bills and so the rubbish went on finally i spoke to Sam who was actually very nice (dont hate me, read on) she said your cheque is in the post today would you like the cheque number just so you can check? so i took it and low and behold the willy wonker ticket arrived!!! 3 months later!! I spoke to them a couple of weeks back to see where my next cheque was and like you guys i have been told in a very rude manner by the C** Samantha that they were waiting on chequebooks and i didnt need to be so impatient!! And now, i cannot even get through to them. The number is not in use.

Up untill now i was just going to except this as punishment for being such a fool signing into that contract and putting my trust into some monkeys that i dont even know. How do these people sleep at night?? But after reading all your experiences why should we let these people get away with manipulating people like us. I am a single parent working part time for just about nothing just to earn my respect in the world and having a contract like this is crippling me on such a low income. However, the bonus is that i will hopefully be entitled to some legal aid so im going to see if there is anything i can do. Problem is i dont know where to start???

  • I have also experienced very similar stuff - but in addition just found they have taken money from my Visa card without authority.

I gave them my details months ago to cover the next day fone delivery fee but now found money taken for no apparent reason. Having e-mailed em (no longer answering fone (!!) they are not replying.

I have spoken to Visa fraud dept who are investigating - coincidentally (make your own mind up!!) my Visa card was subject to a fraud in January when 5 amounts were taken out to cover Vodafone top-ups.

Anyone else had similar experiences? Please advise.

By the way I did manage to speak to them recently - very rude - and the same person (Nicky) answers several numbers I have for them as:

    Telco
    Express Mobliles
    Mobile Essentials

They tell me they are about to move offices (again - now why does that not surprise me) but would not give me the new address - says they'll put a post divert on so whatever address I use they'll get it.

Keep fighting and posting - they will no doubt appear on TV very shortly!!
  • hi, just called orange about my partners 18 month contract and the defunct cashbacks. well, they were very unhelpful. one option they offered was to reduce the price plan to 200 mins a month for £25.00 down from 800 mins plus 250 txts a month for £40.00 plus of course if you were lucky all the money back! the other option was to buy out of the contract for are you waiting for this.......£350.00. oh and a warning that if the payments were stopped they would pass it on to a debt collecting agency!
she will continue to pay but we will have to go down various avenues to resolve this! anyone with any fresh info on this bunch of conmen/women!?
  • Hi, has anyone found out how to get themselves their cheques or should i just except that i have a contract that i really could have done without. Would going to a solicitor be a waste of time?

Don't spend money on a solicitor.

If you want to try and enforce payment from them, MCOL would be cheaper than using a solicitor. And if you win (and they pay up) they pay your MCOL costs as well. (You cannot usually get solicitors costs back from a defendant from a MCOL).

But before spending any more money on them try and find out if they are truly "won't pays", rather than "can't pays".

It does seem they may be in the "can't pay" group.
