  • woo hoo! samantha says i am high priority for the cheque back!!!! thank you kitt001, i got her on the telephone number you posted......and yes i got the same 'we have no chequebooks' story.....isn't that one of the first things a bank does when they get scared you can't keep up with yourself, take away your cards and cheque books?????
  • you're welcome clawsgalore. I only hope the number doesnt change before lots of us get a chance to speak to her.
  • After reading this thread (and several others online)-I thought I would add my thoughts and experiences.....
I was due a cheque in december, which failed to appear. After a lot of emailing (they never seem to email back)-I finally phoned and spoke to someone 2 weeks ago-who said they would send out a cheque on monday(3rd March). Needless to say I received nothing. I finally spoke to someone yesterday (Ali) who told me they had no chequebook and that was the reason that I didnt get a cheque. She said that she was waiting for a chequebook and as soon as it arrives she would send out the (now)two cheques I am due-both for £120 each. However she also said that it could take "up to 14 days" to do this. In my estimate that is a month that the company is waiting to 'receive a chequebook from their bank'-doesnt sound right to me.....
ps-I used the phone number posted earlier in this thread (noting, the twice when i called they didnt answer their call with 'express mobiles', but only said hello)...I will wait and let you know what happens.
pps-I also spoke to orange-who said there was nothing they would do,even though I have already gave them £315 and they said they would hold me liable for the remaining £495 even though a)I have never even used the phone once! and b) the phone is a cheap £10 phone which is unsellable. This was after speaking to a few different people at orange-all giving me different answers and emailing their help page on their website (no replies after 3 emails and 3 weeks)..that is over £800 for nothing!!
ppps- NIGHTMARE!!!!! Is their nothing we can all do about this???

I too had problems with "Sam" - she is a sarcastic *!X. I sent of chequeback claim 14 dec, phoned to confirm they'd got it as no cheque received in Jan or Feb. told there had been delays due to Xmas! Re-sent e-mail as "reminder" and called again and was assured matter was being processed, then received letter saying I was out of date! Called again and spoke to Sam who was thoroughly rude and sarcastic saying I had to write in to dispute rejecttion letter. Said no and stood ground and finally rec'd cheque beg. March! Also told my file marked "high priority" (I bet!) now due for 3rd instalment - also found new webpage "being completed 28.3". have just emailed 3rd claim and wait to see next excuse. Will call Orange in case. Any more info on liquidation anyone or any proposed legal action?

im in the same boat as you guys. gets me so annoyed.

i am overdue 2 cheques and i have probably made around 3-4 calls a week since november 07 trying to chase this up.

Samantha is a reall C##! they have kept sending me cheques under the wrong title, one was addressed to 'Ms' and the other 'Dr' and iv had to send them back. i took a scan of the last one i got before sending it. iv sent numerous letters to them also stating clearing what im due and when it should have been due. whats annoying is that they state quite strictly in there terms and condtions yet they dont stick to them themselves.

Im due last novembers cheque and januarys also. has anyone contacted trading standards? thats my next step since iv tried getting in touch via letter.
  • well i spoke to ryan late feb and pointed out that express mobiles were in breach of contract by not sending me my cheque. i told him that i would be going to the small claims court for breach of contract if no one called me. well they did and i got a cheque 5 days later. waiting to see if it clears. tell you later!!

I am still waiting for my second cashback which was due January, i spoke to sam and she said its on the way but we all know thats a lie. I tried calling them again from 15 march but it seems like they have cut thier line off and they say all the enquirys should be made at the website but it also seems thier website is under some sort of maintainence work. I am waiting for £120 cashback and i have sent them emails stating that my solicitor will be in touch with them. So i hope my solicitor gets my money back plus compensation, im gona take them down!!!!

I think everyone should cancel thier direct debit with Orange and stop using this tariff, because we all know we are not getting back our cash. I am gona forward this matter to watch dog and see what they say. In the mean time i am gona take them to court and take every penny they have left and of course i will kindly refund all you guys your cash back from that money lol

What do you guys think we should do? do you think we should keep paying our bill with orange? or cancel?

thats a good point that i have been considering aswell cancelling my direct debit and telling them to route payment to express mobiles. i dont know if that is legal or not though. anyone shed some light?

surely since EM has in effect broken there own terms and condtions we have some strength in the matter in what we can do ... only thing im not sure of is what we can do

Good luck. You'll need it if you cancel your direct debits!!!
  • :o Hi, new to the whole forum thing, but I am hoping that someone could help in the matter of express mobiles! As a single mother I am feeling abit of a prat for reply to the text I recieved last year, when it seemed too good to be true. Is there any numbers where it is possible to speak to a human being who can give proper answers, instead of fobbing me of every time I ring the old number. Thank you all for letting others know about this problem.
