Express Mobiles/ Yes mobiles out of business?

I have just been reading these very discouraging reports about Express. i didn't even get a sim card from them, let alone make any calls and i am still being charged for it after i tried to cancel my account in november. O2 are chasing for money on a phone i no longer have and have never used.
any ideas as to how we can get on to them? i'm desparate!
I suggest you cancel the O2 direct debit with your bank. Then phone O2 and politely tell them it isn't your problem, you never recived anything from YM and you want your money back in full (if you're owed). It may take several calls but your issue will be resolved. If you get debt collectors on to you tell them them same thing - its O2s problem and they need to resolve it with the retailer. I did the same when my order from E2save got lost in the post.
In addition to this, check your credit report a few months later...if O2 have reported unpaid bills ring them and they will contact Experian on your behallf and correct the -problem. Orange did this for me no questions asked.
May I also add that next time you take out a cash back offer, do it only from the following retailers:
- Any blue chip high street chain
- Mobiles.co.uk (part of CPW)
- Mobiles2yourdoor (part of Phones4U)
- E2save (part of CPW)
- OneStopPhoneShop (part of CPW)0 -
I have to say that's poor advice. 1) getting a bad credit record to make a stand is extremely dangerous and never to be recommended. 2) Anyone going for a cashback deal with AMY company needs to do a LOT of research and know exactly what they're doing first. A quick read of the many threads on E2Save, OSPS etc. will quickly disperse any notion that it is simply a matter of picking the right dealer. THAT is merely step one of many.0

It doesn't damage your score - It shouldn't of happened to me and Orange apologised sincerely. It was caused due to a procedure not being followed by customer service staff (I recorded the name of every single staff member I spoke to luckily).
Whilst I happen to agree that OSPS and E2Save have experienced several problems, I was referring to the 'saftey net' for cash back deals...with them been owned by the CPW, you can guarantee they will honour the deal so long as you honour the T&C's - something that people seem have difficulty understanding.
Personally though, I wouldn't touch these two companies with a barge pole as they seem to always screw orders up somehow i.e. incorrect phone, tariff, delivery address etc.0 -
It guarantees nothing unless you are prepared to legally enforce your rights. Even then cpw does not (unlike Northern Rock) have the backing of the Bank of England. As for whose fault it was on the other problem it matters not to anyone looking at your credit file for ANY purpose in the interim. All they see is an unpaid debt meantime. Of course, if you don't think that's important cancel the direct debit!0

Cancelling your DD and refusing to pay a mobile contract WILL affect your credit rating, MJ is right. Unless the mobile network are willing to stop barring action and flag your account as having a billing problem - but I wouldnt have thought any would as it is not a billing issue, the network have fulfilled their part of the deal and sadly any cashback failiure doesnt negate a contract with the mobile network...On the up

Just to let everyone know that I went to the 11 Dragoon House address mentioned above and on other sites, but they are no longer at that address. Actually, they were no-where to be found on the whole estate. I then tried the postcode that features on their terms and conditions and it took me to a road with nothing more than a few farms and a nursery.
I have also emailed them threatening legal action and put a read receipt on the email, but I haven't received a reply from that either, and that was sent 3 days ago.
I'm starting to give up and concede defeat, unless anyone has any clever ideas to get me out of paying for the contract!0 -
i totally agree with everything i have read about Express Mobiles in this forum - it has now been 2 months since i sent off for my cash back cheque, and have heard nothing - i tried calling a few weeks ago on 08702255123 - and they informed me that it would take 28 days for my request to be processed and that my cheque would be sent AFTER 28 days was up - nothing, like i said - i have now tried to get back into contact with them on the same number as above and it is refering you back to the website - which is coincidentally under construction - and the origional sales number is putting me on hold straight away and then cutting off after 5 mins.
does anyone have an alternative number for this company as i now want to cancel this contract but am worried that they will penalise me for this in some financial way!!!
let me know0 -
hmmm have just spoken to the managment at O2 and Express mobiles has gone bust !!! - just so that you know !!0

If they have really gone bust O2 should do the honerable thing and allow us to cancel our contracts. I'm going to give O2 a call, I'll let you know how I get on.0
