Express Mobiles/ Yes mobiles out of business?

  • Their PO box number according to 2 members of staff rung on 2 separate occasions is Express Mobiles, P O Box 582, Fareham PO14 9FQ. So this all ties in. They are Telco Ltd trading as Express Mobiles. This is according to the cheque i did eventually get last December after a member of staff went so wild with me for repeatedly ringing them up that i had to tell them to calm down.
I photocopied the cheque convinced it would bounce, it didn't. Their business bank is the Romsey branch of Lloyds TSB Bank plc and the other details like sort code and account number may come in handy when talking to Ofcom or others if someone needs it.
It took 28 "working" days to arrive not 28 days as stated on the generic email that is sent out instantly when you email in your statements and dated 31st October 2007 from Sam Ashworth. A classic chestnut of an excuse from them was that my cheque's processing send was delayed by the backlog from the postal strike. We were talking in December 2007.
Keep hassling them politely on the freephone number (0800 198 1001) it drives them nuts. I was ringing them twice daily at one stage and writing down the name of the member of staff and what she had said so i could quote that to the next person.
The alternative if this cheque does not appear is for me to use my mobile for every one of my land line calls too as the call allowances were excessive and are set at £40/month.
    Good luck to everyone.
  • OK...I am so close to driving down to where this company are "supposedly" based, and kicking Sam's unprofessional and rude backside. not only has she lied to me every time i call her, but she continues to fob me off everytime i call.

However, just spoke to Ali/Ally and was told that there is a "backlog" of cheques from Xmas...hence the delay. But she couldnt explain why the cheque that was supposedly posted to me on the 14th Feb has not arrived yet! but she was more than happy to write me a cheque then and there and even give me the cheque number of which she was sending me!!!... she has now promised me that i will have my cheque within the next 2-3 days...by recorded delivery. (so obviously they havent even bothered to write me a cheque until now...if they even have written one now)

This company is a joke, but unfortunatley we only have ourselves to blame. It was our greed that took over our better judgement, knowing that we were most likely going to be screwed over by this company we still all signed upto a silly 18 month contract. Taking them to court wont do much...we still need to pay orange our monthly line rental...

I am as annoyed as all of you, but what is watchdog going to do? If this company is shut down, who will pay us the cashback?

Lets just hope we get paid our cashback, we all learn from this...and something really horrible happens to Sam!
  • That backlog excuse. My eventual cheque from last year took six days to arrive and it was franked. Not recorded just sent 1st class.
The livid employee was keen to get me off her back and I was told a cheque number last year that i could match up when "it came through the door". As if this was of any use. When it finally came it did match.
I don't know how they function.
  • Still not getting anywhere. 'Kate' has now appeared on the scene and although Samantha has promised me that my cheque has been sent, Kate has confirmed that it has not been sent. She has given me a cheque number for a cheque that will be posted today.
  • LOOK!! DON'T mess around with these companies. Send a LBA and sue or wait until they go bust and leave you complaining along with thousands of others already well past THIS stage with other dealers. Some guidance is on page 2 of my guide:-

If you must do cashback deals FOLLOW THE GROUNDRULES and don't deal with companies like this! Also, don't waste a stamp or telephone call complaining to Ofcom. All you'll do is end up adding them to your list of organisations to complain ABOUT!
  • cheque arrived today for £120 lets see if it bounces? will let you know.
  • Got my cheque today too!:j and by recorded delivery. and guess what...it was even the same cheque number that Ally quoted!

    My advice... Hassle them.

    Hello,

I'd just like clarify that Express Mobiles and Yes Mobiles Ltd are not in anyway associated with www . yesmobiles . co . uk.

If you wish to contact Express Mobiles or Yes Mobiles Ltd, their contact address can be found in the terms and conditions section of their website:

    www.yes-mobiles.co.uk

I'd like to advise you that as the owner of a website with a similar domain name, I know they receive several emails per day which are all generally written in a threatening manner - so I suggest if you do contact them you should be polite - you never know, this may resolve your issue with them much more quickly.

    Thanks.

I've just spoken to consumer trading and have also been advised to write to them via recorded delivery; it appears they're no longer taking calls - it's not a good sign!

I have just been reading these very discouraging reports about Express. i didn't even get a sim card from them, let alone make any calls and i am still being charged for it after i tried to cancel my account in november. O2 are chasing for money on a phone i no longer have and have never used.

any ideas as to how we can get on to them? i'm desparate!
