Hi turtles
Another lazyish day not an NSD as I promised to provide dessert for a family gathering and forgot so mad dash to te£co for hopeful bargains but nothing in the reduced section suitable so paid full price 🤨.Stuffed now after a lovely afternoon/ evening at my sisters house. Back home now enjoying a refreshing g&t.Please share any goals for 2023 I’m looking for inspiration. I would like to make daily life a bit less tedious so I’m sure there’s lots of things I can do to meet this goal.Looking forward to another day of the Christmas wilderness tomorrow with no plans or places to be but ds is desperate for a kick about somewhere and think it will benefit us all!Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Hugs to all you poorly folk, the chaise longue has been stretched to accommodate you all & wine & chocolate is on tap - the only medicine you'll need! Rest until you've got your strength back & contemplate the year ahead.

I did YWA after having two days off, then went for a clifftop walk with DS1&3. Was lovely, but very cold. DH had got the fire going when we got back, then he went for a walk & I trimmed bits of wrapping paper to reuse next December. I put my presents away, then sorted out next year's diaries & calendar. I always enjoy this activity & use different coloured pens, etc
After tea, we all except DS2, watched a dvd DS1 had received for Xmas. I got lots of knitting done too 😃
Grateful for a walk with my boys, 2023 prep, family film timeUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

I've written two versions of a new thread but it's not letting me post them so I will have to wait until I get home. I will allow an extra 7 days to finalise your budgets and plans.
Still having a lovely time, good food, lots of reading and resting10 -
@Thrifty_Taylor I did the same yesterday - trimming Christmas paper for next year. Unfortunately, anything that DS opened got ripped beyond use.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸6

Spent most of the day so far going through the daft quantity of food that I bought before Christmas ( I didn't go mad, but still bought too much). I have had to throw out a couple of mouldy satsumas and some lemons from a Lidl box I got before Christmas, but will try my best to use the rest up before it goes off. This wet, humid weather is dreadful for causing fruit and veg to go off though!Spent the morning tackling a large gammon joint (Sainsbugs were selling them for £6). The use by isn't till the 8th Jan, and I was going to freeze it, but the small print on the packaging indicated that it *may* have been frozen previously, so it needs to be cooked before freezing. OH cut off a section, which became a soup for lunches (just the trimmings, with loads of veg), and I found a campfire stew recipe online - the recipe is at https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/campfire-stew if anyone is interested. I have all the ingredients, so this is now in the SC, and will be frozen in portions when cooked and cooled. The rest I will roast. We will have a roast dinner tonight with lots of veg and a little of the meat, some with salad tomorrow and I will freeze the rest in slices.I have lots of cheese (DS and his gf sent us home with lots on Christmas day, as they are going away from today) and I had already bought some, so I will need to tackle that next.I have completely lost track of NSDs, though I haven't spent anything at all for the last week, but will certainly not be doing any food shopping until after the New Year!

Afternoon turtlesLots of little jobs tackled today. Got up, cleaned the kitchen and bathroom including floors. Did some pilates after that then had breakfast. Hoovered, took all the recycling out, then decided to go for a walk in the rain. I like walking in the rain but the route I chose was absolutely waterlogged so I had to turn back and go a different way.Had lunch and an early bath, have done some washing, and put all of our Christmas presents away. Took a few bits down to the basement to help declutter. There's mainly just the Xmas decs to go down there but I'll wait until the weekend for that.Am giving blood this evening so have laid off the alcohol today! Probably for the best as am working tomorrow so the last thing I need is a hangover. And I was a very naughty turtle and booked the holiday I mentioned, 7 nights in Bali in October - bliss! Paid the deposit on credit card but will transfer funds from savings when I next go onto my online banking. The balance isn't due until September so I have plenty of time and no excuses! This should give me something to aim for and to help me not waste money on unnecessary things as it's all money I could be using towards that instead.9

Today I am grateful for dyeing my hair and now having a satisfying pink head, for slobbing and watching TV with dc, for finding some world's strongest woman videos on utube, for enjoying my gym visit, for a freebie from ol1o, for my needle felting, for a new year to plot and plan for.
