Evening Turtles. It is absolutely freezing here, so the heating has been on for longer than I am comfortable with. Today has been an NSD as I couldn’t find any of those moisture traps anywhere. For a horrible moment we thought the roof was leaking as the loft was wet but on further investigation it was just condensation. Unfortunately the Xmas tree and box were soaked, so we bought some lap vents and fitted them and was hoping for a job lot of moisture traps, but none are to be had.
We went for a walk along the seafront yesterday, it was a lovely sunny day so we sat on a bench and had an ice cream. Lots of people gave us amused looks!10 -
Evening turtlesLots of snow here this evening! OH and I are watching lots of people struggling to drive up and down the road and praying they don't hit our cars! Was meant to go ride my share pony today but owner texted me and said it's too icy and probably a bit dangerous. I did pop up to see him and fed him my carrots. Got all the way home and realised I'd left my bag, which had my wallet in it, at the yard, so had to go all the way back again to get it!OH wanted to go to the pub for lunch, so I caved, it was his treat. It was nice to sit by the fire watching the snow start to come down.Wrapped some presents this evening and have been sitting under our duvet on the sofa.NSD and a healthy day in the bag, no workout but not the end of the world.10

Evening turtles. Update for yesterday and today….
We visited Santa at a garden centre and I bought some decorations from the shop. One was a white ceramic star with a small gold heart in the middle. I gave it to my friend as she is a star with a heart of gold. She nearly cried when I gave it to her.
We went to a local hotel for a drink & ended up having lunch there with our left over holiday money which felt such a treat! Watched the footy then went to friends to watch the England match. I drove as I didn’t want to walk back in the cold 😇.
Today was an NSD think thats 6/15. I have a list of things that pop into my head I need to buy so may go to bargains for the home tomorrow & t£sco to get them ticked of ✅. Gift bags are always where I go wrong so leave until I know what I need.
Finished putting up decorations and feel more festive. Lots of wrapping to do and conservatory needs to stop being a dumping ground. I may just pack it all up & hide in the loft. I am running out of hiding places for ds presents now. His grandparents from Oz send a pile via am@zon so am@zon boxes just pile up and he walks past them oblivious to what’s inside!!
I’ve made soup for next 3 days lunch and will be mindful of what I’m eating and drinking. I have a meal out with friends on Tuesday but will be good around that.Work will be manic next week as I’ve just had a week off I need to do month end for November and start thinking about year end. I also need to nip out to watch ds concert, so need to make time up for that.Feeling good about getting back into the routine but with a few nice things along the week to look forward to. We also have snow here now. A rarity! DH and dc have just spent a worthy hour sweeping and gritting, though with the snow still falling, who knows how effective it'll be. I'm very glad that the burst water main nearby happened yesterday and the appropriate people were able to get it all sucked up and spat out on a field. Am expecting some traffic chaos tomorrow with the snow on top of frozen roads and then half the road cordoned off due to the pipe... Plus the fact that so many people here just do not know how to drive in the snow...

More snow today.
Not too much.
The house is very cold despite heating on.

Stay cosy folks! We just have ice on our Scottish island. Don't get snow very often. Think we had some the year before last, but it'd been 10 years since the last time there was enough to go sledging!

Did yoga & sit ups before breakfast, then went for a walk with DH & delivered a couple of cards en route. Made a fire on our return, then sat & stuffed 3 fabric chickens for a pop up shop this week. Went to drop them off & my friend's dog bit my hand! Wrote a few more cards, did the ironing, then wrapped lots of little things for my friend's birthday tomorrow.
Grateful for lovely messages from DS3's GF, not slipping over on our walk, finishing the chickens offUse it up, wear it out

We had snow and freezing temperatures here too. That's when I miss Germany's rules, like that you have to salt and clear the pavement outside your building by 7am, detached house or tenement alike. Here it's just an accident waiting to happen. I do mine though and used to do ones of elderly neighbours, but they're gone now. If it's really bad the whole cul-de-sac chips in though.
Went to the playpark for a while after much resistance and then they didn't want to leave 🤣, always the same. Heating has been on all day but lower than usual as we were all in onesies and cooked roast dinner. Made a roast duck for dinner, cooked it in a roasting bag for the first time. Well tell that just shows how much I know Thrifty, I just assumed that as you were in the far wilds of Scotland, you got snow every year! We are in the far south east on the Kent coast and hardly ever get snow. On Saturday we just got some icy hail and I was quite jealous when I saw cars from the higher ground around here with snow on them.9

Just looking out of the window and every year (been here nearly 20) I'm surprised how early it gets dark this time of year.
Started writing my goals for 2023. Just the bullet points for the personal goals just now. Will need to think about detailed action plans and realistic monthly targets etc. and detailed financial goals.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/259 -
Today I am grateful for my walking shoes, for a chance to walk and talk with dc, for getting to the gym, for fairy lights, for the end of term drawing ever closer.
