Yes but I'm doing what GrannyBoon does and having them with a glass of red.Is something the matter?
Cat I'm so happy for you that DD & DS have parts in the Christingle. It will be a tonic to you tonight. Come back and feel free to have a proud mummy moment.
HH A few days R&R sound good. I'd walk over hot coals too just to get her out the house.I think I"d even walk through Twink's wee pond as well.
Blairweech My oldest son is a bit like that. and he's 27. I usually get both boys a nice shirt & a dvd or something. I'm sick of the "turn up your nose look" and have bought him undies & socks this year. Can't wait to see his face.
Redruby What a lovely memory for his wife. It will haunt her for a while but in time give her comfort. My mother died in my arms too.Hard to believe it's nearly 2 years ago.
Tea is cooking. Veggie lasagne & tossed salad (fresh from our garden) Byeeeeeee

Good morning everyone!
Sorry to hear that some are not feeling so well or have had bad news.... it feels especially tough at this time of year.
Inspired by this thread I did actually start the card writing. I think I was putting it off as I usually add a letter with all the news but could not face doing it. So I just wrote a few lines in each card...... job done.....well have done 10 cards and a birthday and anniversary that I had missed last week. Have 2 parcels to send so must check out last posting dates oooh and an ebay one to organise.
DS birthday tomorrow - 17 - where have the years gone.....
Both DS and DD do not break up until Friday --- I finish on Christmas Eve but will not have the children as they go to Sussex on Sunday. Peace will then decend.
Have a good day all - have to go to a meeting now about a 30 mile drive - oh hum.

Good morning:D
Just back from the gym and I'm done in!!!! Now off for a shower before I hit Bluewater in hope of clearing up the last few presents. Then maybe I can think about getting some food to eat:o Time is rushing by so quickly, and Thursday and Friday will be lost fetching my Dad. I think beans on toast will make a very unusual Christmas dinner:rolleyes:
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Adam Pink-winged!!Hope you're feeling lots better! :bdaycake: Happy Birthday Quasar, 21 again;)Hope you have a lovely day.
Finally got the tree in yesterday, from it's home outside in the bucket. I think half the spider population of my garden had taken up residence in it's branches!! Fitted the lights on, which promptly blew! 1 hour later DH declared them unmendable (?:o ) so I had to fly out and buy a new set. Looks lovely now though:D
stefejb I didn't sleep at all well yesterday. Still hadn't had a wink of sleep by 3.30am:eek: Tonight I shall join you in a glug of something;)
And AussieWill you please stop messing with posts! I had to back track quickly because I had missed mrs mix glugging the whisky:eek: I'm far too busy to be checking every word you write:rotfl: It's lovely and cool here:D
Well must be off,

Good morning all
I feel as if I haven't posted on here for months. Life isn't slowing down for me at all at the moment but I'm looking forward to being off for 10 days over Christmas.
Happy Birthday to Adam and Quasar!
mrs mix (((hugs))) to you and DH.
Pen-Pin I really hope you start to feel better soon so that you can enjoy your break in Norfolk over Christmas.
Charliesmum I agree with you about having homeless people in a civilised society - but I know of at least one tramp here who absolutely refuses to sleep in a hostel, get a change of clothes (the trousers he is currently wearing are split from ankle to thigh on one leg and he has no belt to hold them up.). Once a year or so Social Services get involved and I think he is dragged involuntarily to get a haircut, shower, clean clothes, newer shoes, etc. I guess there are just some people who want nothing to do with society.
blairweech didn't read your post about the little ingrate who turned her nose up at your present (will do shortly though.). I think it says as much about her upbringing as it does about her.
redruby ((((hugs)))) haven't read your recent posts but I will soon.
((((hugs)))) and :santa2: to everyone else I haven't mentioned. I have read your posts.
Off to the bank to pay in my December salary (that includes 27 hours overtime. :j ). Then a quick visit to the supermarket then the podiatrist, then work then the school run then home. Phew!
DD was at the theatre last night to see Shane Ritchie in Scrooge. I'm sure I will get all the goss tonight.
Need to rush now. Have a tremendous Tuesday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Hi all
happy birthday to adam and quaser:j
feeling really fed up at mo, havent followed my diet since hols and have been scoffing too many chocs, no idea why i am doing it either so weighed this morn and have put on 10lbs since hols:eek: no wonder i feel like s***!!
really cold here still, -6 and was like that all day yesterday, in the evening it was -8 and kids had to walk back to school with dh for the play!
reason being is that while dh was going to work at 5.30 yesterday morning while going up a hill all the warning lights came on, temp readings went funny and there was a bang coming from car, so its sitting in garage at mo waiting to be fixed, think it may be a hose burst or something, more expense:mad:
kids loved their play, modern version of the nativity, i just cant get in to the same, why not do the traditional version, its just stupid! kids were great in it though:D
so off to clean kitchen today and tidy up, hope car is back today as it was shopping day yesterday so really need to go today:rolleyes:
hugs

Morning all..........(((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))) if you need one could not get onto the net last night think NTL was having a bad hair night so have not read the thread.
This morning we are off down to clreean the sitting room. We have a cleaner, but all she seems to do is the carpets, hall and stairs.......the cabinets are very dusty and we need to use some of the glasses for tomorrow.
Did anyone reply to my query about part roasting the spuds today and finishing them off in the oven tomorrow???????? I could do with taking some of the pressure off the oven tomorrow.
OH kept me awake again coughing...........3am before I went to sleep, had a nap during the evening, will have to do the same today. I also have to get into the attic to get the decs down.
Right gotta go.............towels to go into the laundry as we go down, also need to get the storeroom key for the chairs that need cleaning..............
Pen pen hope you get on ok at the hospital and that your OH is less sore today, poor man..............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning All
Happy Birthday to all celebrating
PenPin - who was texting you at that hour? And more importantly why???
I hate it when people text in the middle of the night. 4.30am wouldn't be a problem as I get up at 4am for work, but hate being woken. Especially by those network messages.
At work as usual. I'm up to my eyes in stuff to do, hence the lateness in getting on here! Got so much to do by Friday - I don't think I'm going to get everything done in time!!!
Going to a lunch later - work related - so got even less hours to get things done in the office today

Morning everyone. Still have to get to know all your names but I will get there.
It took me ages to get into work this morning and I will have to continue sorting out Christmas hampers for clients. My plan for tonight is to start wrapping Xmas presents and sorting out more of my daughter's old clothes - sell some on ebay and others for freecycle. I get sometimes annoyed with freecycle since I have now several times found that people sell my stuff on a carboot.... well guess strictly speaking it's their stuff - since I've given it to them.
Other than bought my slow cooker!!! Woohoo! Haven't been organised enough this morning to set it on the go, but will do tomorrow! Will definitely make soup - now with the cold wheather I like to take soup into work with a sandwich.
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Morning peeps :santa2: A very Happy Birthday to Master Pink and Quasar:bdaycake: :bdaycake:
Not frosty here this morning thank goodness. My little car has just gone in for its annual service (great time of year as we're so rich:rolleyes: ) so I'm at home today, yay. Going to give the house a good scrub round today and that's probably the last time it gets a look at a microfibre cloth until the Big Day I should think :rotfl: DS21 is still snoring in bed but he will give me a hand when he gets up (oh yes he will....)
Loaf in BM at the moment, one load of washing in the machine and bed made etc so I'm pretty well on top of things so far. I have to finish off the decorations round the fireplace today as well as do the wrapping of the final few pressies and make my final shopping list, and then I <think> I'm done, yippee.
Have a great day everyone! Hugs to those in need..
