I thought I'd done badly with only getting 30p!
I'm with BG and they are refusing to update my smart meters so I can't benefit from their scheme as they claim they are unable to read my meters so I have no choice but to use Loop.
Something is better than nothing though.

Raise an official complaint.  Like all supplier's they know full well their obligations.
Enrolment & Adoption The Enrolment and Adoption obligation requires suppliers to take all reasonable steps to  ensure that their SMETS1 meters become eligible for enrolment. 13 Once eligible, suppliers  must take all reasonable steps to enrol their SMETS1 meters into the Data Communication  Company (DCC) within 12 months of the meter becoming eligible. Suppliers are also  required by their licence to take all reasonable steps to ensure all unenrolled SMETS1  meters are replaced with a SMETS2 meter by the end of the year, 31 December 2022.
Notice the big get-out here?

Nope in my case I've had no reasonable steps, unless one defines reasonable steps as claiming DCC told them it will take until 2025. I'm sure it would be easy enough for them to document what steps they have taken and why a SMETS1 meters cannot be replaced with SMETS 2. I suspect in most cases they simply cannot be bothered m
They are using the limited stock of SMETS2 meters to replace older dumb meters, knowing that the DCC has told them that the existing SMETS1 meters will be enrolled eventually.

Legitimate excuse to outweigh any complaint I would expect.

Hardly if it is demonstratable that they have done nothing.  A meter that can be read by Loop / n3rgy.com is clearly on the DCC network but with some db issue that causes it to be not discoverable by supply id. If, despite repeated requests for them to raise with the DCC they fail to do so, it is quite obvious that no steps have been taken, let alone reasonable steps.

I'm not saying I agree with them, but I can see that nothing would come of it.

Will see what comes of my back and forth with Sainsburys.  We currently have a stalemate where I've not raised it as a complaint, but have made it clear to them if they want a meter reading they know what they need to do to get it and it won't be by asking me for it.

Come November, if they don't sort it, it will be interesting to see how they estimate my usage when my 2 year fix ends... if its based on the estimated usage I gave them 13 months ago, the estimate will be higher than actual usage so their incompetence may save me some money ultimately.

The term ‘reasonable’ is the subject of hours of contractual debate amongst lawyers. An obligation to use ‘reasonable endeavours’ generally means that a party should adopt and pursue a reasonable course of action in order to achieve the desired result, bearing in mind its own commercial interests and the likelihood of success. You can see that there are many ‘outs’ for the contracted party.

To enrol a smart meter on to the DCC network, the supplier needs the cooperation of the DCC ( which is responsible for all comms hubs) and the meter manufacturer (the party responsible for meter firmware updates). What could possibly go wrong?  There are also smart meters gained on churn for which the new supplier may not have an existing contractual relationship with the meter manufacturer.

Having sat through many hours of contractual/legal discussions as a subject expert (not a lawyer), most contract obligations start with a ‘best endeavours’ caveat until the contract provider adds a significant £ sign to the contract cost ( to cover the cost of performance failures) which then rollbacks to ‘reasonable endeavours’ with both parties accepting that there may well be performance shortfalls downstream, and many arguments to come.

Given that the smart meter rollout programme end date has continually moved to the right, I cannot see any supplier being sanctioned for SMETS1 meter DCC ‘enrolment and adoption’ failures until we have a final smart meter rollout target date.

....a massive £1.84 yesterday :)
• Thanks all for suggesting using more energy in the afternoon. I've been given £2.78 which definitely beats 17p from last time. Just from choosing that earlier slot to run the tumble dryer.

No idea why the loop slot was only 1 hour as other companies were running 2 hours I think.
• I think it is a con. I just got an email saying I did not save enough to qualify. The thing is I was away from home yesterday, and I checked on their own app and I used under 0.1 kWh in that period!

The problem is that you probably also used almost nothing in the 3 hours in which they assess the in day adjustment. Unfortunately the formula for calculating the 'savings' heavily weights that period.

Another loop saving opportunity between 9am and 10am today.

Easy time to turn everything off, though I wouldn't normally use much at this time on a non-saving day.

So same here first time invited to loop as Eon Next are still only "testing" their energy saving events and only if you have marketing etc turned on in your account. Not available to all customers which is a bit naff really.

So hit the confirm with loop yesterday and ran everything we could easily shift to 5-8am this morning to help the calculation.
