I always find this term the hardest. Dark nights and mornings, the excitement of Christmas for some and the disappointment for others.
I agree with the others that you need to look after yourself too.
I also know taking time out of teaching is hard.

Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x2 -
Go and get signed off sick. Sort your house out, sort your life out and go back when you've had a long enough break to feel better.5

I do understand in the best of worlds I would get time off but whenever I am home I just look after mum and so a break doesn't really happen. And I know it would seem like less to deal with but setting work and feeling guilty about missing work is a big mental load to have. Plus I would really miss my friends. And Mum would be in the nicest possible way be thinking I should be at work and remind me and mention to my sisters about how I wasn't coping and...................I know that sounds sad but I really believe that is how would go and I can't be doing with it. I am ok really. Made some changes to my teaching - sod what the "leaders" want it is unrealistic and stupid. It will look ok, just be boring for all concerned, boring but doable.
She is on steroids for a bit now, after the appointment, so will be a bit better over the coming weeks. I am not cooking today - in that I am only putting ready made food in the oven!
I half emptied my room and have made some progress in the cleaning and organising. Going to carry on today, once my room is a nice place again I can go bed earlier - can be upstairs but still watching tv/working
ooo and joy of joys I have a day off work tomorrow! so that is lovelyNevertheless she persisted.5 -

But you NEED a break, Buffy. And if time off work isn't the solution, you need time off from your caring duties.
