I had some moths in my drawers! What had happened was some pyjama bottoms had slipped down the back, so under the drawers. We knew there were moths all over the place, but it was only when I pulled all the drawers out I found ground zero! I’m hoping they have gone, gone now and aren’t just hibernating 😕 I have lots of cedar blocks and lavender in the drawers now as it’s supposed to discourage them, but time will tell. Because of the pets I never have the doors left open or windows more than a crack in summer so it was quite baffling.

Check that they can deliver a hospital bed to an upstairs room before you get rid of anything.  I know sometimes they will only install them on the ground floor.

I can second that. When my FIL and mum came out of hospital to be at home they would only put the bed downstairs in the living room.

Yes, having worked with people using hospital beds, I don't know any who had them upstairs. They are very large and bulky and don't think they come to bits.

They do come to bits ( my late DH had one for nearly 3 yrs )
can’t help with upstairs as living in a bungalow
But if she’s going to be in it a lot then downstairs makes her more part of things

Delurking to say my late MIL had one upstairs a few years back, but definitely worth checking where you are as my grandad (different area) had to move down to the front room when he needed a hospital bed.

  • Hospital bed has been delivered. All a bit REAL now.

Mum might home tomorrow. Need to do more stuff in her room. The bed is big and bulky so it must have space all the way round for the carers.

Am gutted that my new set of drawers has to go to mum - it doesn't fit in my room yet and she needs the space. Also gutted that in all the shoving around of furniture I have been doing it got damaged. Also the front door got a mark on it too and I am hoping it rubs off but not sure. Silly things really but they have upset me.

Still have the problem of the dogs to contend with. The bed was such a shock.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Hi Buffy
Glad to hear your mum is coming home and the bed went where you expected.
I hope you find a solution for the dogs - I know you looked into walkers before, were there any you liked who might still be available?
Also hope you have got signed off for enough time to settle into your new set-up.
