First really sorry for you and angry at Natwest.

Best to call NatWest Direct try getting a manager and see where it goes but overall I think best to wait with NatWest other lender will want their own valuation and etc so might delay further .
Yes, that’s my thoughts too. Better the devil you know and all that. I’ve asked my broker if he can speak to someone higher up at NatWest to get this resolved sooner rather than later, but he didn’t sound like he had any ability to do that.
  • So sorry to hear this @Velar19! Just try and relax and trust that it’ll be sorted eventually. In the grand scheme of things you’re in an OK position vs. those customers that just get a flat decline (appreciate this is a very positive spin!!)

We had our own issue today, NW asked for my partners passport (they already have her driving license so really not sure why that isn’t sufficient!) and we now have two open items on our tracker. Back to the waiting game…

Yes, you are right. I am quite positive that an offer will be issued, it's just a question of when.  I accept the original year of birth discrepancy was the fault of my broker, and not NatWest. However, what I can't understand, is why it took them from 27/9 (application date) to last week before they even picked this up.  It also makes no sense for them to then do another hard search on BOTH of us (rather than just hubby, whose year of birth they have wrong).  It's like they are treating it as a whole new application, rather than one they have had for over 5 weeks!!  And to then find out that when they did the second search, they have used yet another wrong year, is beyond incompetent.  They have the credit file, regardless of the year being wrong, so they have not achieved anything by doing this, only delaying the process even more.  My broker says that the fact they used another wrong year should not be an issue, and they are trying to get the second search removed anyway. So I am hoping that by the end of the day today, (which is when they told us it would be done by) the underwriters  will have assessed the application again we will have some positive news. Here's hoping.....

I was initially contacting them via their "chat" facility.  However, be warned - I think the agents must be based abroad, where English is their second language, as their responses are grammatically awful, they make no sense, and they don't really seem to know anything.  All they do is quote lead times, they have no specific information to give you.  I then called them on the phone, but I think these agents are working from home, and only have limited info to give off of their screens - again, you don't get any specific details.  All I want in my case is for someone to look at it, see how ridiculous the whole thing has been, accept that it is way out of their SLA's, and get someone (like a Manager for example!) to take responsibility for it and actually make some progress with it.  We know (from seeing others timelines) that things can be done really quickly, so I don't understand why, when it's been so poorly dealt with so far, that they can't do this.

Mine were all ticked as of 20/10, and we were told on 24/10 that an offer would be sent within 5 days.  Here I am, over two weeks later and still no offer, and another 4 open actions. It's soul destroying. :(
  • Pleased to say we’ve just had our offer through.

if it’s any help @Velar19 - everything basically happened today in the space of a few hours (tracker went from pending to ticket, new message to say we’d get an offer within 5 days and then the offer via email)
