We’re in exactly the same boat @Velar19 (although in our case it’s a misspelt last name rather than DOB). Went to underwriters on Friday 4th Nov and we’ve been told we’ll hear something this week…good luck!Velar19 said:Update on my horrendous case - our application is now back with the underwriters, as they have to confirm they are happy with the year of birth change (they have had the wrong year of birth since application on 27/9 but have only just picked up on it) and it will then go back to the offers team. Underwriters won't look at it until 9th, and then god knows how long after that for the offer team to do their stuff. I'm losing the will to live.......

@which1982 it's just ridiculous. I've just checked the tracker for the umpteenth time, and guess what? Yep, ANOTHER two open actions now as of 6pm and 7pm last night.
I just do not know what is going on. My broker is next to useless, but at least they have admitted that all of this is their error, as right at the start they are the ones that used the wrong year of birth for my husband. Considering they had driving licences/passports as proof, for them to get the year wrong is beyond unbelievable. They are asking me if I want to make an official complaint (which of course I do) but I am worried if I do it before I get my offer, the complaint would in some way impact on possibly getting the offer. I know that is probably a bit paranoid, but considering what we have gone though/are going through, I think it is justified! 0 -

Complains are usually handled by different departments in Financial institutions so shouldn’t effect your case.
But may help an unnecessary further delay.
Important is to let them know what you expect as outcome ie a compensation or just a letter of apology.
I believe they will have letter of apologies already printed and probably not even worth the piece of paper written on. So choose your expectations wisely ;-) #JustSaying

I expect a reduction in the fees they are charging me. I think that is a reasonable request. I have tried to call and e-mail my broker this morning, and he isn't responding - says it all reallyBig_Rock said:

What made you think you had an offer? Were you told that, or were you just living in hope? My broker was told on 24th October that we would have an offer within 5 days. However, last week, they discovered a discrepancy with my husbands year of birth (their fault and my brokers fault) and that now the whole thing has had to go back to underwriters. And this morning two more new open actions have appeared on my tracker!!Viperex said:when i thought i had a offer next , this happens 😣😣

@which1982 @big_rock well, just when I thought my joke of a case could not get any worse, I have just found out that the second hard search they did against my husband (because on the first search they did they used the wrong year of birth, which, to be fair, is the fault of my broker and not them) they have.........yes, you've guessed it......they have used ANOTHER WRONG YEAR!!! It is so beyond ridiculous that I have to laugh. So, here we are, already back waiting for re-assessment by the underwriters, so they can look at the second hard search with what SHOULD of been the right year of birth. The fact they have used another wrong year will mean that back we go again to assessment. And to make matters worse, my hubby now has 2 hard searches in less than 2 months, and hence his score has dropped. So when they FINALLY do a hard search with the correct year (if they ever get it right) the score is going to be pants. My broker has said they are doing what they can to get Natwest to delete the hard searches off his record, but in the meantime here we are, 6 weeks+ since application, and no further on in the process than since application day. Do I tell them to stuff it and go elsewhere, or do I suck it up and wait yet another god knows how long in the vain hope that they get it resolved. I have never been so disgusted with such poor service in all my life, and I am becoming more and more stressed by the day. I just don't know what to do anymore.Big_Rock said:

First really sorry for you and angry at Natwest.
Best to call NatWest Direct try getting a manager and see where it goes but overall I think best to wait with NatWest other lender will want their own valuation and etc so might delay further .
