Was told on 24th Oct that an offer would be sent within 5 working days. It didn't, so chased it up, and long story short, they said there was a "discrepancy" with my husbands DOB. They had keyed it incorrectly, and since then apparently it has sat at the bottom of the pile. Was told yesterday that it would be offered within 2-3 days. I'm still waiting.
broker called NatWest who said they could make the change without reassessment of the application, but can take 16 working days (argh!).Broker uploaded the ID doc on Monday, but he called back today and NW had only just read his email - now told it’ll be 5 working days before they re-offer.0 -

Hi all, I have posted several times on this thread and on others, so apologies if you've read my story before.
The whole application process with NatWest (via a broker) has been, and continues to be a nightmare.
My timeline so far:-
27th September - Application submitted (via a Broker)
27th September - Hard search carried out (Notification from ClearScore on 29/9)
30th September - Valuation completed (physical, and all OK)
10th October - All actions ticked
10th October - Request for further info, sent to them immediately
10th October - Soft Search carried out by RBSG
11th October - Conveyancers instructed (we are mortgaging the home we own outright)
20th October - Last action ticked
24th October - Broker chased NatWest, who said offer would be sent "within 5 days"
31st October - Still no offer so I used "chat" and was told by an illiterate agent that the offer would be issued "in 2-3 working days"
2nd November - I chased again, told by another chat agent that there was a "discrepancy" with the year of birth of my husband (they had used mine instead of his) and that it was now with the "dedicated team" to resolve, and again stated "2-3 working days"
2nd November - broker chased, says he wasn't told anything about a discrepancy with the year of birth
4th November - ANOTHER chat agent, quotes the same time frame
Now here is the thing (and thank you if you have made it this far!!):-
My husband and I have had an alert from ClearScore today, telling us that NatWest have carried out ANOTHER hard search, on Thursday 3rd November. Why would they have done another search?
And in addition to that, when I looked back at the initial search they did on 27th September (day of application) the year of birth they used for my husband WAS WRONG. All the soft searches they have done since have also used the wrong year of birth. So this has been an issue since day one, yet has only been picked up within the last few days!!
Has anyone else been in this position? Is it normal for them to do another hard search?0 -

The reason they are doing another hard search is to get your real credit file as obviously they wouldn’t have got no info on wrong details.
Irrespective of the reasons it’s not fair and you should launch official complaint. Also make sure it wasn’t an error by your broker. Mine messed up filling application and blamed NatWest but I found it later .Just horrible experience overall … sorry to read your timeline .0 -

I see what you mean about having to do another credit search to get his "real" file, but they obviously got his file when they did the initial search, on 27th Sept, hence the hard search showing up on his file. And also, the soft searches showing on his file. So even though they used the wrong year of birth, they still did get his file!
And I think it was actually my brokers fault, as when I looked at the soft search that they did, they had the wrong year of birth. So essentially it is their error, and I have e-mailed my broker today informing him of this.0 -

im sure all is going to be fine though - hang on in there!0 -
Update on my horrendous case - our application is now back with the underwriters, as they have to confirm they are happy with the year of birth change (they have had the wrong year of birth since application on 27/9 but have only just picked up on it) and it will then go back to the offers team. Underwriters won't look at it until 9th, and then god knows how long after that for the offer team to do their stuff. I'm losing the will to live.......0
