stymied said:Oh no! I still think staying over at work would give you a tiny bit more wriggle room in your budget and *may* be a more acceptable suggestion to your OH now?
I thought the goal was defaults as fast as possible so no breathing space applications?2 -
Great that they’ve defaulted you already @NiteEyez1980 and even better that they’re not bothering you.0

Glad to come back and read such positive updates NE - aside from the tyres of course. The car costs are something you will need to make absolutely certain that you are working out accurately - because of that high mileage you will need to allow far more from your monthly budget towards car related costs than most folk would, so I'd be inclined to sit down and work everything through ASAP to make sure you're in the right ballpark with your budgeted amounts.
I'd agree that if there is any option to stay overnight at work even a single night a week then that should be something to look into - and I think you need to be explaining to your OH why this has to happen as well - most importantly for your own physical and mental health but also to assist with finances of course. That is very much secondary though.
As for the Dryden Fairfax thing - don't catastrophise around it - wait and see what they actually do, rather than spending time and energy worrying about what they "might" do.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi guys
Work has given me the option of a lease car. 3 years, £350 a month.
Electric, all insurance, mots, services road tax. Tyres etc.
At the moment I'm spending £300+a month on diesel and trying to save £80 a month for repairs, servicing l, mot etc. Thats as side from the road tax and car insurance. I should be abit better off financially and have everything covered.6 -
That sounds excellent and will take away the worry of bills for the car.

You’re well overdue to catch a break and this sounds fab. Enjoy your new electric car! Your neighbours will think you’re trouncing this inflationary squeeze - because appearances are deceptive. 🤫

Excellent news. Not only saving you money, but also saving you the stress of worrying what might go wrong with your car. Also a big thumbs up for saving the environment with an electric car. I presume they have free electric chargers at work?Making the debt go down and savings go up
