Not for your standard commute and daily running around. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Hi guys.
Just thought I'd check in.
Natwest have instructed their company (dryden fairfax) to apply for a charging order on my property (can this be done if debt is just in my name and it's. Joint mortgage)
They also want proof of my medical records for the depression and medication I've been prescribed

I would contact stepchange but if even if they apply for a charging order and it gets agreed they cannot force a sale. The debt will have to be repaid from sale proceeds once it is eventually sold. If the debt is in sole name and the property joint then I guess they can only repay it from your 50% share and mortgage and secured loans take precedence. Is the property held jointly or as tenants in common?

If the debt is in sole name and the property joint then any charging order would be recorded as a restriction, not a full charge.
When the property is sold, all you need do is comply with the wording of the restriction.
That is what Charging Orders - the Myth? thread in the stickies is all about.0 -
It is a joint owned property in both our names.0

Hi guys,
Self pity rant on the way, however Im feeling like such a failure at the moment.
I can't lay the blame at anyone other than myself for how I'm feeling
I know envy is a sin, however literally everyone we know has either just come back off a beautiful foreign holiday, is there or just off.
Even in work it's the same deal.
I feel like I am working myself to death (and tbh the missus is. Now doing 3 part time jobs, here and there) to just struggle whilst somehow people around me who earn less, have nicer things and going on holiday.
I know I should be happy for them and it's selfish of me, but it's causing me to isolate and not want to see people as I don't wnat to hear about it (awful I know)
Everything just seems to be going !!!!!! again for me:
My giant 12 year old is literally eating us out of house and home and being so greedy (and literally sneaking food)
My 25y old has split with his fiancee and is sofa surfing during the week and when it's his wekend for the kids he's coming around here Fri-sun which is another 3 mouths to feed.
Kids clubs all want re-signing on fees (£75 in total)
Council is stalling on letting me have an external pod installed for electric car (as it crosses about 2ft of council land)
Summer holidays have started and kids are already bored, weather is shocking and all they r seeing is there pals having the 'works'
Wanted to sell my nissan when new EV arrives but wife ha promised to other son whose just finished uni on a "pay us what you can a month" deal as he passed his uni course and we had no money to get him something nice.
I face the inevitable "how much have we got saved for Xmas" with expectant eyes like I'm gonna say £1000 question that will lead to a nuclear explosion
My wifes gfs are all off on a girlie holiday next year. Not once has my wife said "I can't go" which means I've got an epic row in early 2024 to look forward to
All in all, it just feels really pointless, I'm starting to see the kids as just agents of spending I don't have, and wondering why I even bother working, hell my boys ex fiancee now he's gone is on about 2.5 benefits a month, she's working cabs in hand and has just booked 10 days in Greece for September.
Apologies for the rant but it's all seeming extremely pointless at the moment

Lets put this all in perspective...this is just my opinion.....unless you know your friends and work colleagues personal affairs, you have no idea if they are paying for their holidays on credit cards and in a couple of years, will find them in the same situation as you, but by then, you will be a couple of years down the road with it all and getting things back on track. Also, a lot of them will have had hassle at the airport, got sunburn and come back with coughs, cold & covid.....there are down sides to everything.
With regards to kids clubs, just tell them they are not able to go anymore, simple. Yes it might create a bit of moodiness from them, but they will soon learn. And also if they are old enough to understand, then just explain that finances just won't allow it and explain why credit cards are such a bad idea.
Your 25 year old is definitely old enough to understand, so tell him he can't come round to stay unless he contributes towards gas/electric & food.
As for Christmas savings. We now only buy for the children in the family and limit it to £20 each for the GK,s (there are 4 of them, & £10 for my Great niece. That's it, no one else gets a present. We decided a couple of years ago to stop buying for adult kids, sister & dad, and they no longer buy for us....such a waste of money. Apart from DD who does buy us a small present as we look after the GKs so much during the year, but I have told her not to bother and we don't expect it. Christmas food, is just a nice piece of meat with some extra pigs in blankets, stuffing and a nice pudding and maybe a bottle of sherry for me & baileys for DH. That's it, its just another day, and far too commercialised. You really don't need to keep up with what others are spending, if the kids don't get what they want....hard luck really. But for a good tip, my DD (with 4 kids to buy for), starts early in the year and buys most of their presents from FBMP or that well known auction site, or charity shops. It can be done, just takes some thought.Making the debt go down and savings go up
