My guess is a note with the paypal payment

These are low cost high volume booking agents, they can't make money if people don't follow the proper procedures

If you work at a company that has a contract with a carrier, consider asking if you can send your goods on the company account and then reimburse as necessary. I'm not suggesting anything underhand, but if your company uses a carrier on a daily basis, the rates can be very competitive since the carriers want the business of your company. Sending goods on the back of this can not only be good for you, but can also add to the number of shipments per week or per month on the account, and thus possibly even enable a better rate for your company. This is probably better on an occasional basis, since you don't want to upset your employer of course, and don't forget to discuss or agree on the limitations of what will be done if parcels don't arrive - you can't expect colleagues to chase parcels for you in work time for instance.

If you are going to use a carrier, don't forget to make sure someone will be in for delivery. Don't expect the carrier to leave a parcel with a neighbour because they don't generally have time for messing about. Nor will they leave the parcel behind the bin as will your friendly postie, because they have to get a signature. You could maybe offer to send the goods to their place of work since they will have someone there to receive it in worktime hours, but you may need to be a little cautious if the delivery address isn't the same as the Paypal address (although I have never had a problem when buying this way).

    Hi everyone,
I know first time posters seem to be suspected in this thread, but the email I sent to the Moneysaving team doesn't seem to have been taken into account, so here you go.
I followed the link to MH Direct couriers on Friday morning (after 10am) and placed an order for a same day UK delivery (£6.99). I gave a collection and a delivery address, and my money was immediately taken.
I received a payment confirmation from Paypal, but nothing from MH Direct.
I emailed them on Monday morning to get a confirmation that the parcel would be picked up that day. No reply. I tried their "instant communication service". No reply. In the evening, I placed an order with personalshippers and told MH courier to cancel my order and to refund me.
I got an email from them on the tuesday morning saying that I had to read their home page and fill in a form (no excuse, the customer is clearly wrong with them).
They have refused (to date) to refund me.
Even if there is a form to fill, they should:
1: make sure it's filled before taking the client's money
2: read/answer their emails (or "instant communication"!) they are sent
Personal shipper (more expensive at £11.22 incl. £100 insurance) was great: I placed my order on Monday before 10pm, the parcel was collected at 4pm on Tuesday, they called me on my mobile to check if if had been, and I got an automatic email tracking each step. Should be delivered today.
Feel free to believe I'm working for personalshipper, but if you get stung by MH Direct couriers, don't complain.
Note to MSE: I think there should be a warning or the link should be taken away, from my point of view it's a scam or a very understaffed operation.
If I do get a refund from MH Direct, I will let you know.

Ive used them for about 6 months and they were excellent. As with other courier resellers I think they are struggling under the pressure. Their website changes daily at the moment and VAT appeared on top of all the prices today for the first time so the first post with prices is incorrect. I had failed collections Friday and today and my 2 outstanding claims have not been paid out. I'm jumping ship.

I never told you this but a mobile number for them is 07894 881006 which does get answered. You will never get through on their landline number.

Thanks for this info. I have asked again for a refund (by email) and they said they will refund me. I'll try the mobile if I don't get the refund.

My parcel sent with personalshippers arrived as expected this afternoon. It may just be luck, but I have nothing but good things to say about their service.

On their website, when you "buy" their product, they ask for :

Collection Address Details: : Delivery Address Details: : Collection Date : Quantity :

They never mentioned a form, and that was enough for them to take my money!

  • Hi everyone.
would love your help if you use courier services. As a lot of couriers are self employed, like myself, it is very frustrating when making deliveries and no is in to receive their parcels. it would be much appreciated if you can make arrangements for it to be delivered to work or somewhere convenient as this would cut down fuel costs, emissions, time etc. i know this probably sounds selfish but would be a great help to us

    thanks in advance

Hi, I need a company to collect a parcel for me but it can only be collected on Thursday after 1pm, does anyone know a service that you can choose a collection time?

I believe that www.csparcels.co.uk will do this for you. They have asked me previously what time slot I require.

I presume that most parcels will be related to Ebay, to meet the paypal guarantee it has to be sent to the registered paypal address with 99% of the time will be a home address
