I booked an international delivery to Italy using Pre Paid Parcel / PPWeXpress. I filled in their online form on Sunday and it then told me to await email confirmation of this booking. No option was given to complete the payment at this stage.

I patiently waited for the email but I still haven't heard back from them. Anyone had any success in using PPP for international deliveries?

originally tried to use the ppexpress but having loads of issues with it no going to stage two, thought i'd try supaparcels and found out that there price does not include VAT and that is a another £1.10 to add to the £6.29 so maybe doesnt make them as competitive as others.
Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!

Were you using Firefox by any chance?? I got the same error as well. I switched to IE and it works fine. Their website must have an issue with Firefox.

What day have you booked it for?

Yes is the answer to your question, the way we do it is just email the booking details to them and then send the amount via paypal direct to them, unprompted; no booking form etc. We always request confirmation and normally send them I reminder in the morning.

We're stopping using them as much as possible now, for international parcels we use Express Packages Deliveries , the chap that runs it 'Richard' is always very helpful, prices are good and are for up to 30kg, they use parcelforce. For places he doesn't have listed you just email him for a quote.

If that happens, go to 'my ppp' scroll to the bottom and pending consignments, click 'book now' on the appropriate one and it takes you straight to stage 2.

we always send money directly to their paypal account. Then email them the parcel detail such as collection date, collection and delivery address, parcel size, weight and etc. Don't forget to attach the payment receipt in your email. Finally you will receive an email to confirm the service is booked. It is easy.
  • I used this shiply.com recently aswell but i found them on yell.com, wasn't sure at first how it could work but I put on a pool table i had won on eBay from Birmingham to Leeds and i must have saved a good £50 I reckon based on the quotes I got elsewhere. I'd definately recommend it if you're looking for a good discount....

Hi Steve, I've just looked at that site you mentioned, and I see it does house removals. I'm moving in a few weeks (fingers crossed) and have got some quotes from removal companies but at the moment am considering just hiring a van, because my quotes are so high. Would you think its worth trying shiply? Was it easy/fast to use? Any negatives? Because I'm just thinking if you can save that much on a pool table might be really worthwhile for a whole house?
    Thanks

The thing with hiring a van is there's a higher chance of damage to items, and you'd have to pay for the damages yourself. Add on the cost of diesel and your time, and it might not be much cheaper than a removals company

I phoned them up this morning to find out what the status of my booking was. They reiterated what ArmitageShanks (thanks btw ;) ).

While PPP is the cheapest way to send my parcel to Italy, their price does not include insurance! - there's always a catch  . They quoted me a whopping £7 per kilo insurance!!

I've therefore re-searched different couriers and found ArmitageShanks' recommendation the cheapest (thanks again! ). They use Parcelforce with tracking facilities and parcels will be insured for up to £150! :D

    Hope this helps someone!
