Read my other messages you fool!

We've sent hundreds of parcels....we've used them all. I'd like to think my advice would be somewhat appreciated but there we go.

There is no need to be abusive.

I did read your other posts which is why I asked the question. What made me suspicious was this reply from you to angel shopper "why did you use home-textiles when all the conventional wisdom on this board points to ppwexpress?".

Well if you read through the whole forum there have been a number of complaints about ppwexpress, as well as a few good comments that are mainly about their low prices.

I have used used courier agents like ppwexpress in the past and have found them a complete nightmare. And as a few other people have mentioned they often tend to come and go very quickly.

I've used ppwexpress 4 times now and DHL have always turned up on the specified day to collect the parcels, so no problems there, I'd also recommend them to everybody.

If the parcel gets delivered late by DHL, in this case I used ppwexpress' £5.95 service, do I have any grounds for a refund on the postage from ppwexpress? It was collected last Tuesday and only arrived at its destination today. I didn't send anything abroad, just from England to Scotland, so within the UK. Thanks in advance.

Have you used them before, or for that fact had DHL collect from you in general in the past?

For a collection they wouldn't leave a card anyway I don't think so I think thats bit odd.

I would try try ringing PPP now, if not reply email both lisa and sales.

With regards to ringing you, the driver doesn't have contact numbers for any bookings and even if he did he wouldn't really have the time to start ringing round when ever there is a problem.

I used PPP last week but at a different address. I'm at my parents house now sending stuff, and they've had citylink and parcelforce deliveries before but i don't know about dhl. I've emailed sales as they say to do in the original booking confirmation email, so i'll just wait and see what happens and may as well go to the post office tomorrow if nothing happens as DHL seem to be the only cheap courier choice available in the list now :( and why are we having to put in out telephone numbers and usually delivery numbers too when booking if they never use them :p

ppwexpress are a courier agent who may use a variety of couriers. Some couriers will instruct their drivers to phone if they are having problems either collecting or delivering (it appears that DHL don't).

you could try www.directparceldelivery.com they're parcelforce?

tbh though PPP should rebook it for tomorrow, send another email before you go to bed and mark it high priority and ask for confirmation of what the situation is.

With regards to telephone numbers as mentioned the drivers don't have them but the depots, customer service offices and PPP for that matter do have access to them so say if the van got broken into they would be able to contact you etc. I think TNT is different as when we used them direct with our account a year ago the drivers would often phone you or the consignee if there was a problem, though quite how that is workable I don't know.

Tim! Sorry my somewhat rash remark! I can categorically say I have no links with PPP, at all. You're right, using courier agents can be problematic but its a price you have to pay well for...price. As I've said we've used many of them and at the moment we think PPP is the best of if not a bad, but certainly a dodgy bunch. When we used home-textiles we often had failed collections or only part collections and yes it was a pain, but because of the price we could accept it and tbf they were always sorted promptly. Touch wood we have had no failed collections with PPP and they're a good deal better value and certainly give the impression of being a good deal more reputable than home-textiles; just look at the quality of his emails, some of his retaliatory feedback he left for people (right or wrong) or even ask TKPeters view on him?

If you want send and forget service use Special Delivery, otherwise if you're just a small time odd few parcel person the reality is you have to take the rough with the smooth, unless of course book direct but in that case you would need to remortgage your house.

who's open for betting on when DHL spot and cancel PPP's account? I'm going may 30th. any takers? :D

I'm not sure that it's the case that couriers don't like contracts with courier agents. I thinks the main reason why couriers stop trading with agents is because they don't pay their bill, so the agent then moves on to the next victim (sorry courier company).

A big warning sign is when the agent suddenly changes courier.

Did anyone ever use postvan.com or sameday.net when they were still trading? They were in Lowestoft, so I was wondering if any of the agents mentioned were also in Lowestoft?
