    Hi

I want to buy a supermarket shopping trolley(strange, I know!!). there is one on ebay starting at £28 plus VAT, which they said I can collect (but it is too far for me) and it is too big to dend as a parcel, and needs to go on a pallet.....they have quoted £47.20 plus VAT for this on a 3 day service.

This really bumps up the price of the trolley.

Any ideas which company I could contact in order to get a better price for delivery?

    Thanks

Why don't you just ask the manager at your local supermarket if they will sell you one?

Good idea, though just make sure they mark it in some way so the police know you haven't nicked it.
    OR
go to your local river, and pull one up from there, a bit of WD40 and jobs a good'un!

Thanks muddyfox470 and Tim Deegan..........do you realise though, that shopping trolleys are everywhere, UNTIL YOU NEED ONE!!!!! Since they have started charging the £1, there seems to be short supply of trolleys to salvage!! :rotfl:

On the plus side, I finally managed to get through to someone at ASDA, and a very nice lady there is going to speak to the manager for me tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able to have a broken one for nothing.....in true MSE style!!:p

    Fingers crossed....and thanks!

Yes! I wouldn't worry. Touch wood we have never had a non collection from them!

We occasionally don't get any booking confirmations and I've just looked through our order history and we have 10x "Sent to DHL - Waiting for Repy". and 3x "Declined by DHL" yet they were all collected fine, so from our experiance it should be ok!

why did you use home-textiles when all the conventional wisdom on this board points to ppwexpress?

It could still be fine, for example our DHL driver has just come now; they can come anywhere up to 5.30 ish, so give it bit longer.

It don't mean to be harsh but it is people like you who must make selling parcel deliveries a nightmare, there is no point emailing through out the day as he Wasif (home-textiles) has no say on when your item gets picked up.

Once it gets past 6 email him and he will re-book it on a 24hr (thats what he did with us anyway)
