Lol! Would our auctions not get removed for excessive postage charges??!!? :D:rotfl:
  • Can't comment on how good or otherwise ppwexpress are, but I am always a bit wary of newish companies that have spelling mistakes on their official website. amateurish?
  • I booked a collection with MH Direct on 2nd April, requesting collection for 4th April. DHL came to collect on 2nd April & of course the parcel wasn't ready. Trying to call MH Direct was impossible - engaged or it just rang & rang. Calling DHL was a waste of time as I didn't have the correct reference number so finally when I got through to MH Direct late afternoon on 3rd April, I was assured that as I'd booked collection for the 4th, it would happen. It didn't. I sent an email to MH Direct through their failed collections link - no response and the parcel was never collected. Telephoning them was impossible. I ended up taking the parcel mysef to the DHL depot.
MH Direct are off my Christmas list.

So I did book with DirectParcelDelivery and it was fine; ordered yesterday at 9.30am, got my tracking number 5 hours later as stated, picked up an hour after that, and delivered from my home to a business address today. :T The only difference from Ballon&Gift was I got no reciept at pickup this time; I did ask and the best the guy could do was give me the tracking num which i already had. Dunno if that was a PF issue or DPD issue though.

As for ppwexpress, my idea about them being payperdrop comes from here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/171730/really-cheap-dhl-collections-24-and/ (post 6) but I supose they could just have used the same reference material as ppd to compose their emails  But.... they did reply to an email via their site asking about business / home deliveries and they confirmed their omega service should be used for deliveries to business addresses. So that's something at least. Will consider them once other's have posted their experience with them.

I think it must have been a ParcelForce issue. I received a Customer Copy receipt from them on collection.. signed and dated by the PF bloke.

used them this week, after baloon /gift went under, taking my booking money with them
i booked a pickup of a heavy item i had bought
    didnt receive a booking conformation
    didnt receive a tracking number
couldnt find any trace of the order in myPPP
emailed them 3 times in 2 days, but no replys
miraculously the item was picked up, and arived next day for £5.50
so will give them another go, despite lack of communication
  • BEWARE - DO NOT USE CAPITAL TRADES!!!

No Confirmation emails. Didn't collect, very hard to contact. Still trying for refund 14 days later. Finally got through to very cagey character on phone last week, who told me if he was me he wouldn't use Capital Trades.

Ended up using PayPerParcel - very good service

We have given them a try & received an email confirming the booking & one later stating that DHL had accepted the booking.

On their site under 'My PPP' you can view the booking along with the DHL Consignment Number (which the driver will have) & the JD Tracking Number once it has been collected

I can presume that the user on HUKD was using a free email address & the emails got junked

Just received this message from balloonandgift at 23:52 16.4.08 on a delivery due to be picked up on 18.4.08:

    "Apologies
Ebay and Parcelforce have stopped my account as they did not like me selling them on ebay, now i am unable to complete bookings
You will need to rebook these with alternate carrier and i will refund any monies due asap
Once again my apologies for this and my many thanks for your custom and support"

Looks like Parcelforce have found out that ballonandgift were reselling their services without prior agreement. Naughty people !
