Has anyone had experience using http://www.directparceldelivery.com/ ?
Any good?
Just had a look and is same price as Balloon and Gift were charging, have missed cut of time for today anyhow, but tempted to use if they are ok for tomoro.
Made a booking at 9.30am for collection today. Payment was by Nochex and then went to enter delivery details (though it said I had paid by PayPal). Not as neat a website as others (no postcode lookup, label printing and would have been nice to have email confirmation of the order details) but will let you know if it gets collected. I am waiting for my tracking number which should be emailed to me by 2.30pm according to the site.
EDIT : Package picked up 1.20pm. Happy chappie! Tracking number was supplied by email at approx 10.30am - I missed it because it was filtered into my Spam box.0 -
Ben, not sure if any of your comments were aimed at me (I only mentioned that I tried to send an email yesterday via your site but it gave me an error - ironically to suggest improvements to the site)... but I was happy with the service - one or two enhancements to the website may make it better (in fact it is better since yesterday) but I guess the price may go up if you do.
However, I'd get the equivalent of your public relations person to write the mails on here if I were you. For starters it's really labourious to read when you start every word with a capital letter and doesn't give a very professional image (to me anyway). Happy to use you again though.0 -
Ben, By 'postcode lookup' I mean that to save someone typing in the whole address the user can enter a postcode and the address can be chosen from a list or populated just leaving the number of the house to be chosen. This makes the user experience better and cuts down on destination error (gives the sender a chance to double check the seller's address and saves time entering).
Minor enhancements that are easy to do :
* Once user has paid by NoChex the next screen should say not say that payment has been made by PayPal
* Your Obligations to the customer satate "Payment is requested upon a booking taken by our automated system, via paypal invoice that will be issued to the e-mail address given on the Booking Form." Again you do not use PayPal.0 -
Ah well, while you're here Ben...
Would there be any issues in having a parcel collected from a home address and delivered to a business address? I need to send a parcel to someone and they've given me their work address as that's where they'll be all day, but I know other companies charge extra for business deliveries and I've checked through the whole of the T&Cs, info and other pages on your site and it makes no mention of business or home addresses and I'm just wondering if you're assuming all addresses will be home ones or that it really doesn't matter?
And do you use DHL or parcel force? Sorry if it mentions this anywhere, I've just not seen it yet.
Thanks, pepsi_max2k0 -

as the majority of your customers are probably ebayers, with paypal accounts, and not nochek , why dont you take paypal?
it has put me off using your service0 -
Does anyone know the deal with couriers and delivery to business addresses? I've been looking around and trying to figure it out, and seems there's seperate services for business to business, home to home, and business to home, with some of the sites listed here mentioning which theres is (some not doing a very good job of it), others not mentioning anything at all, some using services that although they make no mention of it the actual couriers do...
And my biggest problem is I need to send from a home address to a business address. Which from what I've found, no one actually specifically states they do. So I'm guessing it's either classed as home to home or business to business, and I'm just worried about what happens when i inevitably chose the wrong one
Any help appreciated0 -
pepsi_max. I haven't sent a huge number of parcels but when I get stuff sent to me I usually get the seller to send them to my friend's garden centre and have never had a problem. I used www.parcel2go.com recently and sent a package to a business address - no problem - that was with DHL.
And to answer your previous directparceldelivery use ParcelForce at the moment. Have a look at ParcelForce website to see if the don't send to business addresses.... I would find it hard to believe that they don't. How would you send faulty goods back to companies?0 -
i think the issue for some is they use specific home services
so its not priced for business addresses.
in using 'normal' courier services its never been an issue.

thanks all. given that some are suggesting ppwexpress are a rebranded payperdrop / work4limited (they have the exact same wording in email confirmations), and after payperdrop's poor history / bankruptcy... i recon i'll go with directparceldelivery now some decent feedback has come back for them (and not just from the 1 post people).
also, parcelforce like others have said don't seem to have a non-business or home only service (unlike dhl) so i'm sure i can't mess up, and they also seem to take longer to notice people reselling their services (look how baloon&gift were around for) than dhl do (seems all the guys who dissapear quickly are dhl users). so i'll cross my fingers and hope for the best... and hope my alarm goes off so i can book tomorrow before 100
