TSB £180 switch offer

Not had a bad experience with the account opening so far (was braced for worse). Received my activation code today after applying on the 12th. Got the card a few days earlier, just waiting for the pin now but expecting this to be a bit later now with the upcoming RM strikes. Will set the switch date for November after my Direct Debits have paid out on my donor account. Fully expecting TSB to not pay the bonus though and claim I didn't have cookies enabled or something like that!0

So, got a text to say switch started then 34mins later another to say its failed. Went to phone their number as said on letter I got , open hrs 8am to 8pm and guess what . They're closed. grrrr. If it gets sorted, I'll be leaving after I get my 125.0

My new tsb account has now been amalgamated with existing ones and without me having to phone tsb 😊 14 days to do.Yorkshire_Pud said:
I’m speaking from years of experience. It’s completely hit and miss whether they amalgamate my accounts or not but I had many profiles due to tsb insistence on always opening a new account with a new log in instead of like other banks just adding it in like Santander do in minutes. Mine hasn’t been done yet after 13 days. I can log in on my new account separately to the others.janeskips2 said:
Have you had it merge before with TSB or are you speaking generally? Have you logged into online banking with the new account?Yorkshire_Pud said:
Mines not merged after12 days. Sometimes they merge within days sometimes it doesn’t work at all unless you phone them and they send an email to back office! All hit and miss.janeskips2 said:Is "up to 9 days" an accurate duration for this new account to merge with existing? Although I was logged in the link reset that so I had to create a new online account despite being a TSB customer. I spoked with CS and he said up to 9 days, it's already been 7. How long did yours take to merge?
Havent got my PIN yet either.
Still no PIN.0 -
The RM strikes have defeated the security purpose of TSB sending items separately. My card, PIN and activation codes all arrived at the same time. Account hasn't merged yet and knowing TSB's reputation I expect the referral won't track and I will have to fight for the switch bonus.

It's probably not the Royal Mail's fault - they were probably all dispatched at the same time.hoc said:The RM strikes have defeated the security purpose of TSB sending items separately. My card, PIN and activation codes all arrived at the same time.
Mine arrived this morning - three identical sized envelopes that looked like they'd travelled together from wherever they'd come based on markings and folds.0 -
With the pre-paid envelopes there's no postmark (date when posted), so I guess markings and folds are all we have to go on.cymruchris said:

My spend and save current account debit card arrived on 18 August, the PIN arrived on the 22 August.
So, it seems they were posted separate, but things could've changed and maybe now they (TSB) are posting them together (to beat the delays due to strikes)0 -
Anyone else think TSB send a crazy amount of paperwork out? Seem to have a new letter every day.hoc said:The RM strikes have defeated the security purpose of TSB sending items separately. Just located paperwork from 2015 for myself and wife thanking us both for switching... can't believe I'd have switched if it hadn't been for an incentive. Not sure whether it's worth dealing with TSB on the off chance that they've forgotten it was so long ago

Just remembered that I used to make debit card payments to my water company when the coop used to pay you to use your debit card each month. My water company accept debit card payments of a minimum of 2p. Hopefully a quick way to get the 30 debit card payments per month for the £5.1

Santander 1-2-3 account only pays 3% Cashback (and there is a monthly fee for account). So, for this particular bill TSB is worthier.0
