Just remembered that I used to make debit card payments to my water company when the coop used to pay you to use your debit card each month. My water company accept debit card payments of a minimum of 2p. Hopefully a quick way to get the 30 debit card payments per month for the £5.
Good idea.. Santander 1-2-3 account only pays 3% Cashback (and there is a monthly fee for account). So, for this particular bill TSB is worthier.

Oh I still pay the rest of the water bill from my 123 lite just knock 60p off it with the 30 x 2p transactions 😅

Lol . Btw, does the £5 cap per month apply to your 123 lite? I had quick look at Santander website this morning and couldn't help but notice it (don't remember if it applies to both normal and lite). Was wondering if this is a new term & condition because of the energy bills going up, so accounts opened a while ago still enjoy Cashback limit promised at the time of account opening. Or has Santander changed the terms and conditions for those existing accounts too after giving notice or when the 12 month period for a Cashback/reward cycle lapsed.

edit: just had a browser through on these forums for previous posts. Seems in September (last month) santander increased the cap from £5 to £10:

And now it's gone back to £5. All these u-turns are making us dizzy!!

For the statement month starting in September and October Santander doubled the 2% cashback on energy bills to 4%, and doubled the amount of cashback which could be earned on that category from £5 to £10. It reverts to normal with the statement period starting in November (unless they tell us otherwise).

The 3% up to £5 on water bills tier was never affected, nor has the 1% up to £5 tier.

My PIN arrived yesterday (20th) after making my application on the 13th - and today I've gained access to the app - and begun the 'manual' switch from my Virgin account. It has two active direct debits to bring over - so let's see whether the initial cash back pays out at the relevant time. I'm not actually bothered about making 30 transaction a month for the further cashback - more interested in the primary payout.

@cymruchris  'Manual'? If you mean 'not CASS' you don't qualify for the switching bonus.

As per a post I'd made earlier in the thread - when I signed up - completed the online application - the account opened - I got my account number and sort code on screen - then clicked on the link to start the switch and nothing loaded. I phoned them the next day, and they said there's a manual link on our current account page for switching (as if they were already aware of the issue) - fill in the details and we'll do it manually. They also said that the main tracking of the switch offer was from the affiliate page to the account opening page - so it wouldn't affect the switch bonus payment. So I'll now wait and see.

So, 3 tiers with percentages for each adding up to 5%:
    a) 1% on Council Tax, phone, mobile, TV and broadband bills and Santander mortgage repayments
    b) 2%
    on gas and electricity
    c) 3%
    on water bills

Don't tell me that's how come it's called 1|2|3 account? LoL

Maximim cashback from statement period in November (unless they inform us otherwise) is 3 x
    £5 = £15?

My account has been open for a few days now. Online account has been set up. Have my card and pin. All good to go... or so I thought.
Just tried to pay in a fiver. Details matched. Hit confirm:

"Sorry. The payee's bank has advised that they are unable to accept the payment."

I have never had that with a new account before. Good to see TSB are still a farce.

Did you try paying in to tsb account using another bank (in addition to the one you tried)?

Correct. Although in practice in order to get to that £15 your water DD would have to be £100+.
