Do you think that small debit card deposits to accounts that accept them (Yorkshire, Skipton etc) will count towards the 30 needed?
I wouldn't do all thirty in one go. Especially if it's for same small amount. E.g. 2p. Your debit card may be blocked because tsb security system may think (incorrectly) card has been compromised.
I've done 30 £1 debit card deposits, one after the other into NS&I using my TSB debit card every month since my spend & save account was opened in June. I did 60 from co-op last Monday and a while back I did 100 £1.01 deposits from Natwest and another 100 £1.01 deposits from RBS one after the other to fill up the digital regular savers with the double round ups. Never had a debit card blocked so far.

Bridlington1 You are a star. Another way is to buy 1p (or penny items) on ebay and pay using PayPal where you include your the debit cards you intend to use for payment. In the past there were a lot of them such as images, recipes, manual, etc.
I did that in the past with COOP a month to get cashback but I stop it as it is not worthy any longer.

    It's worthier for £5 a month cashback!
True but 1p items on eBay is becoming more difficult to find now. eBay do not allow information which could easily be gotten for free to be sold on eBay, the items like images, recipe, pdf manual to be auctioned on eBay any longer. In the past the sellers are selling these sort of items to maximise their feedback.
Also if my memory serves well, coop has reduced the amount of cash back you could get.
So you will invest more time finding that and might need to bid. In the past I had done that for over two years (if my memory serve well).

  • Is "up to 9 days" an accurate duration for this new account to merge with existing? Although I was logged in the link reset that so I had to create a new online account despite being a TSB customer. I spoked with CS and he said up to 9 days, it's already been 7. How long did yours take to merge?

Mines not merged after12 days. Sometimes they merge within days sometimes it doesn’t work at all unless you phone them and they send an email to back office! All hit and miss.

Have you had it merge before with TSB or are you speaking generally? Have you logged into online banking with the new account?

TSB in general aren't exactly known for things running smoothly on the technical front. I've ended up with three internet banking profiles for a student and a spend & save account. All the accounts show on one profile, only the student account shows on the second profile and the spend & save account and the linked savings pot shows up on the third.

For most of the last 2 months I have been unable to make a faster payment in online banking without it logging me out of internet banking and telling me to ring the fraud team, yet faster payments by phone and in branch have worked fine. It's only just started working in the last week or so. They did give me £75 as an apology so their technical flaws aren't always a bad thing.
  • Got my activation code, today, and finished setting up my online stuff, plus got the switch moving.

I fully expect the bonus to not get paid, and I have to chase TSB for it. Because it's TSB.

I've been sent two activation codes, not sure why. Still cannot log in to TSB.

However, I was told my two accounts should merge tomorrow.

Update...just logged into my first account and my new account has been added...wasn't there this morning!

When you started your switch did it allow you to pick a specific switching date?
