TSB £180 switch offer

Just the normal tsb website I think I selected current accounts from the right menu list and then switching. They must have some manual processes to check as well as the initial affiliate link. Bottom line it’s tsb they often seem to make mistakes and then you make a complaint £££££££ 😊 Just take screen grabs of your journey.Asghar said:Yorkshire_Pud said:Then yes you can select current accounts in the list and choose switching to tsb which then takes you to the company form for switches and yet more info to fill in before it offers you a switch date in seven working days (I think). Good news is I just did all this and nothing went wrong which is unusual with tsb! 😊Did you go through the affiliate link to start the switch process, the same as when opening the account.Or just the normal tsb website?0 -
Hi
Does anyone know if there's an option to continue an application with TSB. Mine crashed as I applied for the overdraft. Do I just start again?
Cheers0 -
The suggestion to setup a Burner account with my existing bank was easy, applied while logged in so it was a couple of clicks and a new account number popped onto my profile. I have switched 2 direct debits. What I'm not sure if do I need to wait for them to pay out to be seen as "active" or can I do the switch now. I think waiting is probably safer just to be sure.0

This question comes up every time there is a switch offer. Some posters (including me) will say that the direct debit is "active" as soon as it shows up on your account while others will claim that it is only "active" once it has been collected for the first time.mar7t1n said:The suggestion to setup a Burner account with my existing bank was easy, applied while logged in so it was a couple of clicks and a new account number popped onto my profile. Unfortunately BACS does not have a definition as to what an "active" direct debit is.
Personally, I have done a switch before, and received the bonus, without the direct debits being collected but, as you say, if you want to be 100% certain then it is best to wait until they are.1 -
Some people have had their switch bonuses from other banks declined and said calling their bank as to why when they had set up the direct debit before the switch and the new provider said it needed a payment to be active, but this could have been just the call centre person being wrong and just the DD instruction maybe not having time to be set up.The_Green_Hornet said:

Personally I'm just trying to dot the Ts and cross the Is to make sure the direct debit pays beforehand though. I said that correctly, right?0 -
Same thing happened to me last week, got to the overdraft page which then suddenly refreshed with a new message at the top saying there was a glitch.sheffieldeagle said:Hi

Spoke to someone at TSB who said they could see the application and to wait a few days for it to be processed, nothing came of it. They may have been fobbing me off as there are a few more pages to go in the application, including more checks and setting up login details.
Nothing came of it and the problem is TSB did a hard search as well on that date, which they should remove and I need to find out how to do it.1 -

I had the same issue today as well, one screen further (select online banking username and password). Everything starting going really slow then refreshed with an error. Tried again and it crashed again slightly further, ie. this time I could actually enter a username and password (though the page was still not working properly in ways I won't go into here). I clicked submit and got another error with some code and {{null}} comments, but then it refreshed and showed account details.
Without a doubt the worst application process I've been through. Even the questions are rather bizarre.

I've just clicked the link on MSE - gone through the application - approved for a small overdraft - submitted - got my new account details up - then on the page is an option to 'start the switch' - but on clicking it - it just goes to a page with nothing to click (It does say 'switch to us without the fuss' - but as there are no fields to enter - it'll be a fuss to contact them and ask why it's not working) No doubt I'll speak to them tomorrow:

Perhaps bizarre is a strong term, but they're rather poorly worded. For example, IIRC, instead of asking me my job title, the question was worded more like it was asking what my job involved. Also, the question about how much I spend on "Essential living costs" should, IMHO, have been clearer or provided some guidance; does it include council tax and utility bills, for example? Mobile phone and/or broadband? Or just food, travel, etc?
