I got through after about 15 minutes. Told pin should have arrived well before now about two days after the card so Monday for me. CS ordered me a PIN reminder in the post. Account is working apart from the pin required uses.The_Green_Hornet said:
My PIN arrived this morning on a letter dated 5th October. I applied for the account on the 4th.Yorkshire_Pud said:Nine days since opening account and still not received PIN. Card arrived after three days.
In a queue on the phone to tsb now. May give up though. Wake up tsb.Now to consider the x30 tedious uses of the card this month to get the fiver, aaaaargh I can’t resist the free fiver 😀0 -
Do you think that small debit card deposits to accounts that accept them (Yorkshire, Skipton etc) will count towards the 30 needed?0

I wouldn't do all thirty in one go. Especially if it's for same small amount. E.g. 2p. Your debit card may be blocked because tsb security system may think (incorrectly) card has been compromised.Over62 said:Do you think that small debit card deposits to accounts that accept them (Yorkshire, Skipton etc) will count towards the 30 needed?1 -
I rang them earlier today to ask about the above - and the lady I spoke to said not to worry that the switch part of the process hadn't automated. She said as long as I had followed the affiliate link, and then completed the account application and opening - I could manually run the switch from another link on the current accounts page. She said that the tracking would have run up to the account opening, and that it's a manual check later to see if the switch has taken place - so as long as it was done one way or the other, the welcome bonus will pay out.cymruchris said:I've just clicked the link on MSE - gone through the application - approved for a small overdraft - submitted - got my new account details up - then on the page is an option to 'start the switch' - but on clicking it - it just goes to a page with nothing to click (It does say 'switch to us without the fuss' - but as there are no fields to enter - it'll be a fuss to contact them and ask why it's not working) No doubt I'll speak to them tomorrow:

I've done 30 £1 debit card deposits, one after the other into NS&I using my TSB debit card every month since my spend & save account was opened in June. I did 60 from co-op last Monday and a while back I did 100 £1.01 deposits from Natwest and another 100 £1.01 deposits from RBS one after the other to fill up the digital regular savers with the double round ups. Never had a debit card blocked so far.OceanSound said:

I attempted to do 30 in a row with spend and save account. card was blocked soon after the 30th. I.e I could not do a further transaction. Received message saying card blocked. But no drama as that's not my main account and I had done 30 transactions.Bridlington1 said:

Next day I did a test debit card payment and it went through. So the block seems temporary. It may have been a one off. Just felt I should mention it.
If your mileage differs then continue with business as usual

Another way is to buy 1p (or penny items) on ebay and pay using PayPal where you include your the debit cards you intend to use for payment. In the past there were a lot of them such as images, recipes, manual, etc.I did that in the past with COOP a month to get cashback but I stop it as it is not worthy any longer.
