TSB £180 switch offer

"make at least one debit card payment and have two active Direct Debits by 18/11/2022" I think the article is just written badly. They mean meet the T&C's i.e. use your debit card and £125 (incentive) will be paid into your account.

Are you assuming they'll show for 6 months even if they've been moved & will still qualify for the follow up cashback?Asghar said:k_man said:I think point 5 just means you can't cancel the DDs straight after switching.Going by the terms, you can cancel the direct debits after 18 November. So if the switch completes, with the two direct debits, just a few days before the deadline of the 18th, then on the 18 November they will still show on the TSB account which has then met the terms of the switch cashback. You can then cancel them on say, 20 November, before any of them are collected and before the cashback is paid
Not saying you're wrong, but sounds optimistic.
Are you testing the theory?I should have made it clearer, I meant just for the initial £125 cashback. The direct debits do not seem to be needed to show on the account after the 18 November cut off.For the follow up cashback, they need to stay on there and maybe pay out.

I am sure you are right, it is from TSB.co.uk and not a 3rd party so it's almost unforgivable to be badly explained.1 -
Check your past statements. Especially the first one or the one's soon after. I had a classic plus account too. It was closed end of last year/beginning of this year. Opened end of April 2019. The first statement has an entry on 30 May 2019 with description 'Refer a Friend' and a payment in for £75.00qsk said:
I had two Classic Plus accounts before which have since been closed. I can't remember if I received an incentive or not. Any way to find out? I searched my email but didn't get anything. Obviously I can't check the accounts and they are closed.Zanderman said:Full terms: https://www.tsb.co.uk/tsb-current-account-switch-offer-terms-and-conditions.pdf
Note that:You’re not eligible for this offer if you’ve previously received an incentive or benefit for switching to TSB Bank plc using the Current Account Switch Service.
The screenshots I took when opening the account also indicate that the offer was £75 for friend, £75 for me for opening a Classic or Classic Plus account then switching by 26 July 2019.
Now that I'm aware I'm not eligible for the latest offer, I didn't particularly need to post the above (as it doesn't really affect me), but I felt it's best to share as it may help a forumite.1 -
Just to be clear - if you REFERRED a friend, you’re still eligible right? Because as a referrer you didn’t receive a bonus for switching an account….?0

You can probably legitimately argue that RAF bonus was not a switching payment, it was a referral payment.0

Spend and save account opened pot setup, but when I use the switch to us link, it opens a page with the cass switch logo and three links, register for mobile banking, troubleshoot login, help and support. Do I need to wait on them sending activation code for mobile / internet before I can start the switch? Assuming I need this before I can meet terms for the initial £125?0

I've got a TSB Classic Plus current account which I need to keep open, can I open one of these new spend and save accounts aswell as my other one?0

Yes you can.grimble37 said:I've got a TSB Classic Plus current account which I need to keep open, can I open one of these new spend and save accounts aswell as my other one?0 -
Hi. So I have just opened the TSB account. However, I haven’t been able to immediately arrange the switch. Do I have to wait for the debit card and pin and activation code for login before I can do that? Have others been able to set up the switch immediately they have opened the account please? I’ve got the Acc no and sort code and under those there was the option to ‘start switch’ but when I clicked on that, nothing really was happening.
Thanks.0
