What happens to that overdraft when her normal banking gets moved over to Nationwide ? will Halifax close it down or demand it to be repaid ?
We are both absolute beginners in moving bank accounts
So that looks like they don t fully shut down the account if there is still an outstanding overdraft to pay off .0 -

Anyone else had this issue, please ? Have tried on both PC and phone.
Thanks.0 -

Think I could squeeze or get away with this?
But some people say that some banks don't strictly enforce these deadlines (or maybe they don't notice).
Has anyone tried with Nationwide?

We have a 14 yr old joint current account in Nationwide where both our salaries goes and all the bills taken out through DD. Last year we both opened a sole current account to Lloyds to get our partime job salaries paid to those accounts. A couple of months ago I realised the benefit of switching accounts so we set-up 2 direct debits on our sole accounts (DD's came from Nationwide) to start the journey of becoming super switchers. So far, both accounts received bonuses from Halifax and very recently from First Direct.
My question is, are we eligible to receive the switch bonus if we open FlexDirect sole accounts for both of us in Nationwide and then switch both our First Direct accounts?save for the rainy days0 -
If you have already received a switch bonus from First Direct, you won't get a second one.
However, you could consider other switch offers.0 -

The Nationwide t&cs don't exclude existing account holders - just those who've had a switch incentive since Aug 18th 2021.1
