New and existing customers who switch to the Nationwide FlexDirect* get a FREE £200, plus 5% interest worth up to £75 for account newbies.
Switchers
who've not had this account before get 5% fixed interest on up to
£1,500, and many get a 0% overdraft too – both last for 12 months.
Who can get the bonus? You're
ineligible if you've switched to Nationwide since 18 Aug 2021. You must
be switching from a non-Nationwide current account.

I requested my switch a week ago, though the request date was for 10/10/22. I wonder if I’ll get the £200 or the original £125 (probably the latter) 😅0

Good deal. I didn't think Nationwide would go higher, oh well - you win some you lose some.

The full terms do imply that you may be eligible (once each) on both a single and joint account. So if you did just one of these since 18th Aug 2021 you might do the other now. Sadly, here at Zanderman HQ, we did two singles and a joint in Sept 2021.0

Is it worth chancing a switch to them , even if you've had an incentive since 18 Aug 21?
An existing suitable current acc with 2 D/Ds doing nothing else?
Maybe , like some other banks, their checking systems aren't very robust?
Also, in the full terms,
4. This offer is only valid on the first sole current account and first joint current account you have switched to us since 18 August 2021, even if we withdraw this offer and launch it again in the future
BUT it also says
10. You also won’t qualify for this offer if:
. • You’re switching into a Nationwide account that has already been switched into and benefitted under this or any previous current account online switch offer since 18 August 2021
The last statement may imply that a switch into a NEW Nationwide acc may be OK
More in hope than in expectation I know, but this is what (some) MSErs do!0 -
If I have already switched a sole account into a existing joint account last November, would I be right in thinking that I wouldn't be eligible for this switch?
Only reason I didn't open a new one was because my husband wasn't interested in doing a switch himself, so thought what was the point of opening a new sole.0 -
So I opened a new Nationwide Flex Account last week. I’m waiting on some details coming through the post and then im going to do the switch from my Halifax after this week when I know all my initial payments are made for the month. Will I get the new rate of £200 then?0

grumbler said:Aug 2021 is just the date they started a straightforward switching offer. Prior to that their recommend a friend offer closed early on in the pandemic IIRC. I expect that date will remain static for a good while, as the Natwest Group ones have.0

Edit: Apologies Flex Account qualifies too 👌0
