For me, after a week, it just doesn't work for gas. Electricity is fine. Does anyone get anything more for gas than we've always got from the app?
If you are looking for instantaneous usage similar to electricity then the answer is no. The mini can only report what the meters report, and the gas meter was never designed to show instantaneous flow as it only reports back every 30 minutes to preserve battery life.
Surely if it's every 30 minutes we should expect it showing in the app every 30 minutes but it doesn't show for a couple of days for me.

My question is does anyone get better from it for gas than that? In the app it says to look at the 'day' graph. Does that show anything for anybody?
Tortoise, The octopus home mini is only designed to give you 5 or 30min "live" usage for your electricity. It does NOT provide any additional functionality for your gas. What you will see for gas is the same as what you will have always seen from your smart meter. (which is 30 minute readings)

But the gas usage doesn’t appear until the following day.
In my case, sometime late afternoon I think.
I’ll try to check more frequently today

I'm only going on what the app tells me. For electricity the data is on the 'live view'. For gas the app says to look on the 'day view' and yet there is nothing there. I wanted to know if it was just me or does nobody see anything on the day view for gas.

This will be the same for everyone.

Smart Gas meters usually run on batteries so information from them is uploaded less frequently to save power.

Well according to the app I'm supposed to contact them if there's no day view for gas. So the app thinks it's supposed to be there.

I know about the meter battery and there being no live view for gas. That's not the problem.

If you download the latest version of the App (App Store 5 minutes ago) you might find for IOS users that gas data is available in the Day view.

My gas is usually a day behind on the app, sometimes 2 days, so I wouldn't worry.

Why not? This is what the app is showing for me in Day view. The figure of 4.10kWh agrees with thecIHD.

The update is not here yet. I'll check later. Thanks.

Edit: Yay. Updated and now reading day view. Thank you so much.

    Thanks t0rt0ise
My gas ‘day’ usage was always at least one day behind, appearing some time after 15.00 the following day. I thought my app was up to date but just updated & hey presto, this morning’s use is already there
