Octopus Home Mini

Also got an Octopus Home Mini that has never worked despite lots of "help" from Octopus - it just never worked. Allegedly been raised with support but still not working.
Extremely frustrating.IHD didn't work either which is why Octopus sent the Home Mini.Problem with some meters?0 -
Problem with some meters?
I doubt it as both the IHD and the Mini connect to the communications hub not your smart meters.

Mine's still not working, waiting on Octopus. It shows a steady Green light which supposedly means it's waiting to connect to the comms hub. However Octopus said they've seen it connected to the comms hub, so maybe some wires crossed at their end and it's not linking to my account.0

Must be lucky here then mines arrived, set up and running in 10 mins, very pleased, love the live use reading, (especially when it goes negative)

Mine's not working although Octopus have had a few sessions to try and get it working. I must have tried near to fifty times, but each session it is worse.
First ten or twelve times it went through the provisioning process, connected to wireless etc and Octopus could see something when querying. Octopus said maybe too far from the comms hub Oeven though IHD works OK, but we got the same result even with the Mini outdoors and right on top of the meter cabinet.
Next session after they changed something the provisioning process wouldn't complete with Bluetooth errors.
Latest session doesn't even get that far, the Octopus app doesnt detect it at all.
Octopus blaming our wireless, apparently the fact everything else works at that location dossnt necessarily mean it's good enough for the Mini. But we get the same result trying just a couple of feet from the AP.
I'm now thinking it's just faulty, and the fault's getting worse.0 -
They told us that it is because out internet is 5Ghz and it only works on 2.4Ghz. I have not been able to change it because I keep being told that my router password is wrong. I do not want to phone Talk Talk to change it because when we were on 2.4Ghz before our cameras would not work, they said that the channel was congested. I would rather be able to do it myself incase I need to change it back.Qyburn said:Mine's not working although Octopus have had a few sessions to try and get it working. I'm now thinking it's just faulty, and the fault's getting worse.Normally they have the default router admin password printed on the router itself. You may need to factory reset if it has been changed. The mini is happy on 802.11n 2.4 GHz. I don't bother having g or b as my other devices are all using 5 GHz n or ac. You will probably be able to run both.Something like the WiFi Analyser Android app will be helpful re: congestion and making sure both frequencies are available.1 -
I think that's specified quite early in the instructions, and applies to quite a lot of these smart devices. I guess that's a feature of the chipsets or processors typically used. If the device doesn't support 5GHz it won't even know it's there so from the device point of view it doesn't matter if you have just 2.4GHz, or dual band. What might confuse is if the phone connects on 5GHz during the provisioning. For some smart switches I was trying, you had to disable 5GHz for that reason.millie said:

This hasn't been an issue for me. I generally need to factory reset and reconnect the mini every once in a while to fix data reporting issues and my phone is invariably connected to 5 GHz ac during that time. I've not had any trouble as a result.Qyburn said:
