EURO CAR PARK LIMITED FINE

Good morning all

I came home yersterday from few days abroad and receieved a private parking charge notice from debt recovery plus. This is the first time I have heard of this notice as euro car park did not contacted me previously.

The issue here is that I paid my ticket!! I can prove that 2 pounds were deducted from my account so I am unsure as to what the issue is? The noticed stays: the pay and display purchased did not cover the date and time of parking?

They havent added any picture of me entering or exiting the car park or even the picture of the pay and display ticket so I dont know what to do.

They are asking for 170 pounds which I think unfair. I have read that the best thing to do is to ignore them but scared that will damage my credit score.

Any ideas more than welcome please

Do you still have time to appeal to the PPC or has this lapsed?

Read the Newbies thread sticky on the main page.

Why are you bothered about a letter from a debt recovery company? Read the NEWBIE sticky fourth post. You can ignore them but you cannot ignore PCN/NTK or a real letter before/of claim.   More worrying is why you did not receive the original PCN or Notice to Keeper; is your V5C up-to-date with your current address?  Submit an SAR to the PPC - Euro Car Park(s) Limited if that is the correct PPC.  All acronyms are to be found in NEWBIE sticky fifth post, which I assume you have read by now.
This damage my credit score will only happen if you go to a court hearing and lose and do not pay what the judge states in the timescale set by the judge OR if your address is not correct and the claimant gets a judgment in default because you did not receive the claim form.

    Hi
Just noticed that the V5 shows my previous address and not the current one so maybe thats why I did not receieved any other letters. I have now read the newbies thread and from what I understood, I am basically too late to appeal so I should just ignore these letters?!

If I decide to ignore this letter, what is next? According to the newbies post is to wait until I get a notification from the court?

Is there anything I can do but paying, to avoid thix at this stage? Would I be able to contact euro car park and explain?

Would I be able to ask in and out pictures andpictures of how I didnt comply with their contract?

Last day to pay will be tomorrow

Unfortunately, didnt recieved any mail from euro car park as the V5c shows my previous address. This is the first mail I have. Should I contact them and explain?

I want to know if I could contact them for them to send me pictures of how I didnt agree with the parking charged because I know I paid and I truly cannot remember if I overstayed or not

No you can't contact them to rewind back to appeal but this is absolutely NOT TO BE PAID.

No need to look to 'do something' except correct your V5C with the DVLA to stop this happening again.

It's just a laughable (unregulated) debt collectors letter. The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread describes exactly how to deal with debt collectors letters, but to summarise that post - ignore them.

However, you should urgently tell DRP and ECP to erase the old address from their databases - and by 'tell' I don't mean for one minute that you pick up the phone to such people!  This is something to urgently state on an email to their Data Protection Officer (email found on the privacy page of their websites).

    Then ignore them.

Obviously come back in later years if ECP try a court claim but they are one of the least litigious PPCs and it won't happen.

Gotcha! Have sent them an email and changed my address on the VC5
It just atonishing that they would take me to court even though I paid the parking fee!!!

Do you know of anyone who have been taken to court and lost?

    Thanks

Of course there are many who have lost in court to private parking firms, although most of those we help are successful in defending the claim.

Parking firms wouldn't be issuing thousands of court claims each year if they won none of them.

If you want an actual name of a defendant who lost big time - do a Google search on Barry Beavis.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Of course. we do court claims every day.

You'll know from reading the NEWBIES thread that about 1% of people here report a loss.

No CCJ nor huge costs risk... nothing bad happens.

Please just read the second post of the NEWBIES thread if you have (unfounded) concerns about court claims.  For example, there is no need to ask if the costs will escalate. No.

Please read the Announcement thread 2nd & 4th posts.

  • Hi unamorena1,

I've received exactly the same letter as you.
It would seem I actually inputted the wrong tariff (shy of 50p) as I have bank statement evidence.
My wife didn't update the V5C details when we moved (it was something she was unaware of, and I am a very new driver) - we have since updated.

I'm about to send an email DRP and ECP to tell them to erase the old address from their databases. How did you word your email and have you had a response from any of the parties?
