It would useful for EllDoubleU to start a new post and both the OP and EllDoubleU to state where the transgressions took place. There is some ambiguity in ECP's signage and tariffs especially when parking late afternoon/early evening when the tariff changes to an evening tariff and on Sundays where there is a Sunday tariff.

Euro CP's signage can be very ambiguous as mentioned in my post above. Their day ticket is not necessarily for a day that ends at midnight. There are day tickets that end at 19.00 hours. My perception of a day is that it ends at midnight.

This is how confusing ECP's tariff is in a car park near to where I live.

A driver arrives at 18.40. Car park is free after 19.00. Driver pays for one hour to cover them past 19.00. PCN for overstay even though the overstay was in the free period.

It's possible that somewhere in the terms and conditions in small text it says the the free period only applies if arrive after 19.00.

I guess that there is some weird condition written into the terms and conditions that has caused issues for the OP and other poster.

I hate to think when the new cinema opens what issues this is going to cause.

When does all day mean until 19.00? This is just designed to catch drivers out. This car park is now operated by ECP.

I am reticent about starting a new thread as I don't want to clog up the system as mentioned in the NEWBIES section!

My situation is fairly typical of the ECP, DRP variety. But if you can spot any important points in the chain of events, it would be appreciated.

    - Parked my car as I often do at an ECP near my work on a Saturday.
    - Usual tariff I pay is for 12 hours as there's no option for the 8 hours I work. Charge is £3 for 12 hours. I paid £2.50 in error which  covers 2 hours I think.
    - I have evidence of transaction on my bank statement.
    - Their website does not list this car park and the tariffs are incorrect on Parkopedia (it is listed as a ECP)
    - The car is registered under my wife's name as the keeper.
    - My wife received one letter demanding £170 from DRP on behalf of ECP (nothing from ECP)
    - She did not change address on V5C (done now)
    - I have have told both parties to remove old address from their records (no response yet)
    - Currently at ignore stage.

If you are worried - and IF you'd be a stronger defendant than your wife - why hasn't she transferred liability by responding with your name and postal address?

Can be done at any time before court action.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It is my responsibility to sort as it's my mistake.

Should she do this by contacting ECP?

Yes - by sending an email  to ECP giving your name and address stating that you were the driver at the time.

And she has to do it, not you.  No phone calls.

Despite the 'reticentness' of LW, I still think his issue should be in a separate thread.

@EllDoubleU, your case has a great distance to run.

Tacking all your troubles on to an existing thread is not a good idea.
