Thanks @FootyFanDan / @RelievedSheff I’ll catch up on the diaries too this week. I know that things are better than most financially, I just have times when I think what I am able to provide is not enough because my wife stuck by me when I knew she should have walked away. I never really cared about anything but my business until then, can’t even really say I cared about myself because I didn’t, I just had a massive ego.

I’ve tried to stay away from screens outside of work and had to stop reading the news too this past week or so.
I have had a nice weekend and looking forward to a long weekend off work this coming one. Although it looks like the weather won’t be so good at least we managed a taste of summer this weekend. Went out for a Sunday roast with the in-laws, they picked somewhere nice to eat finally haha so I persuaded them to book again rather than risk somewhere else.

Not really progressed with defining my financial goals for this year. I’m not spending mindlessly and am transferring the money towards paying off the principal on the interest only portion of my mortgage but apart from that we are enjoying having more disposable money. My wife has sensibly been putting her nail and design money towards the bike payments and has said that until she’s a year ahead for the payment, servicing, tax and insurance she’s not going to buy anything else with the money apart from two training courses she wants to do. It’s quite nice because she’s dragging me away from the office in time to pick our son up from school. She is probably doing better with the financial goal setting than I am rn ha, still has her list but has been doing the therapy and staying off social media too.
  • Have you ever asked your wife why she stuck by you?

I am very impressed with Mrs Alt for having this goal, having therapy and staying off social media.

How long is the bike finance for?

Managed to get out this weekend again, although the weather wasn’t so good. I’m not doing so well with sleep, work has been mad and my wife and son have had a bit of a difficult week too. Safe to say I’m looking forward to going away for Easter. We all are tbf.

Financially I’m just plodding along really. I do want to update a couple of spreadsheets but been too whacked to bother.

@in_need_of_direction yeah we’ve spoken about it. Idk I suppose I know that I’m very lucky to have my family and I know they are the reason I’ve managed to pull through.

@Baileys_Babe It’s a 4 year deal. She is doing really well with it. There’s been some issues at school this week and although it’s been awful for her she’s found being able to work on her design/ nails stuff and get out on her bike has been good for her. She’s just started her enhanced training so has that too. Even though I’ve ended up with a little !!!!!! unpaid admin sideline I’d much rather her be doing this and on the bike than on social media. Funny how she can track the bike goals but not her clients haha.

I'm glad Mrs Alt is turning to her bike and nails/design micro business when she is going through a difficult time. I'm sure if you weren't capable of helping her with her business admin she would get there, but in the meantime she is being creative and enjoying her bike. I suspect she may also be using your assistance as it is not an area she feels confident in.

Most people I know could do with a break from work, not long until Easter.

    Well done to Mrs Alt.

Sounds like you are all doing better at the moment.

We are looking forward to the Easter break for some much needed time off work.

That is a huge step forward regarding the lack of cravings, especially on a low day. I hope you manage to get a decent amount of sleep, sweet dreams.
