Thanks @WillPS. I'll see if I can get hold off them again tomorrow to find out what their particular approach is.

Now that my account has closed does anyone know what might happen to refunds applied to the card? I've been unable to get through to the support line and haven't found coverage of this scenario in their Help pages.
Once the account closes to you, the number stays live for quite some time allowing for refunds (of course if you tried to spend it wouldn't let you). Just a thought - I haven't tried this - but might be worth a shot - as the Pulse log in details are the same as your Amazon details - and the card number is the same - although you haven't chosen to opt in, I wonder what would happen if you downloaded the pulse app and logged into it using your Amazon card details - it might show the balance, and old statements (but obviously no new transactions) - that might be worth trying, and let us know how you get on if you give it a go.

I haven't opted into Pulse, but my Amazon card has closed, I was able to download the pulse app and log in using my amazon account details and was able to see my last statement and my older statements.

Even if you haven't asked for the pulse card you are still able to sign into pulse to check that final payment.

I can still log in to my account via the website and whilst everything is visible (e.g. statements) it's not showing the particular refund in question. It was only today though so I've barely given it much chance to appear.

I had a feeling it might work - thanks for confirming it - and useful for anyone that hasn't chosen to continue with Pulse to be able to access their statements.

I imagine it'll take a few days to hit your account.

Just a PSA for anyone with these cards

I didn't opt to move over to Pulse, and today my Amazon card closed.

On my Amazon card I (as with all other cards) had a direct debit to pay in full each month.

The card closure email assured me any direct debit I had would be moved over to Pulse to take care of any outstanding balance - but I was a bit wary of trusting the switchover entirely so logged on to find that they had indeed moved my direct debit over, but had switched it to take the MINIMUM payment instead of the full balance as I'd set previously.

I'm not sure if that's legal or not but it could catch a few people out if the same happens to them.

Had it switched to minimum payment - or was it advising what the minimum payment was? With Newday (Pulse Amazon etc.) when you go into the app it shows what the minimum payment you need to make is, but if in the direct debit section it shows 'full balance' - then the full balance will be taken - here's the login screen showing the minimum payment:

And here's the 'Manage direct debit' section - you'll see that I'm set up for full payment - what does yours say in this box?

My account has been closed as I didn't opt in for a Pulse card, but logging into the Pulse app something has me worried, a payment request was made on the 14th of November for £17.91, but it doesn't appear to of been taken out my bank account, it still says the direct debit is "arranged", it's the 17th today and still saying payment requested for £17.91 due on the 14th of November, I've now made the payment using a debit card to make sure it's paid but I'm worried this will be marked as a late payment and effect my credit rating.

This is a nightmare, I've got a email today to say that my account is being closed, I thought it was moving over to Pulse automatically!? I've been on hold for nearly an hour trying to get through to them, I really hope I can reopen my ACC :-(
This happened to me too :(  Have you had any luck resolving it?  I have been told on online chat that they can't reinstate the account but wondering if it is worth phoning.
