Oh dear Asda Mobile increasing prices from 26 September

I contacted Ofcom for information about this increase. Unlike Landline/Broadband provider who can generally increase prices by CPI plus 3.99%, the mobile providers can increase their prices based purely on commercial grounds ( in other words greed!)..

At last, my Asda refund has arrived!I applied online on the 15th of August and chose to receive a gift card by post. It arrived today, so 22 days in total. I didn't chase them up by phone, just hoped I'd get it eventually.I got the full amount that was due to me and confirmed this by checking here: https://www.asdagiftcards.com/0

To those who have claimed a refund - does your ASDA Mobile number stay active after the refund is requested or do they close your account/SIM immediately?Just wondering if I need to get an alternative provider up and running first, before requesting a refund and PAC code from ASDA.0

My balance went to zero once my refund was processed but the SIM remained active (obviously couldn't call out as no credit). It remained active until I used the PAC to port my number to a new network.2 -

You can still receive texts, make emergency calls and use 0800 numbers.Once you have ported your number to the new company the Asda sim is deactivated. If you created an online account with Asda Mobile, it might be a good idea to remove any credit card details there before you use your PAC.1

Requested refund on 11th and got email today with voucher.......two days must be a record0

I asked for my refund on 25 September (only offered a Gift Card). The eGift Card arrived by email on 6 October and I cashed the whole £9.35 against my Asda shop yesterday (18th). So no problem at all.My wife requested her refund on 5 October and was offered a refund back to the Debit Card she topped up with. So far, however, nothing has appeared in her bank account. On-going vigilance needed.0

Having received no refund to her Debit Card, my wife contacted Asda Mobile to find out what was happening. It appears the information she was given about her refund was incorrect so she will now receive an eGift Card (as I did) in the next few days. Fingers crossed.Update 1 NovembereGift Card received today, so OH very happy.0

I bought a £4 Talk and Text bundle yesterday.
Does anyone know when they debit your account balance?
It should take me under £5 and trigger an auto top-up, but it hasn't yet. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0
