We're probably going to stick with ASDA, but we'll probably buy a bundle for one of us, and then try and use that phone to make all our calls... rather than buy a bundle each.
They are still pretty cheap....just not as cheap as they were. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
I thought the 3 increase was extortionate, This one is worse. up to 15p min.I have a few phones all less than £5 , but as a principle I will try get refund.Utter robbery0

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the discussion so far. We've now published an MSE News story about the price rises, which you can read below.2 -

Well the form you fill in to get a refund doesn't seem to work. You put in your number, receive a text with a code in, enter the code on the form, say how you want to receive the refund voucher, then it says "something went wrong" - that's certainly true - the thing that went wrong was that I chose Asda Mobile!
I've tried it 4 times and still no luck0 -

I've tried it 4 times and still no luckThis happened to me on both my mobile logins.I called up- but refund is on way - so everyone else's will be too, even though the error message comes up on the PC .I will be glad to see the back of them.

If you request a refund what happens to your number? Can you still keep it and transfer it or do they cut you off?0

Can you still keep it and transfer it or do they cut you off?you can request PAC which you need for transfer of old number after you request refund , or before, doesn't matter .PAC codes usually last a month I believe , but if you still haven't moved , just request another PAC it's real easy. It's free service so doesnt matter if your credit is gone.
How do I request a PAC code?
- The simplest and easiest way to request your PAC code is to text ‘PAC’ to 65075 (free of charge) and you will receive your PAC code along with important information about any early termination charges, outstanding handset costs, or pay-as-you-go credit balances. You will receive your PAC code within 60 seconds of us receiving your request.
- Call us on 2732 from your Asda Mobile or 0808 006 2732 from any other phone (free of charge)
- Via your online account, log in or register here.
Pass this PAC code on to your new network provider and they’ll do the rest.

This was to be expected. They're not going to make money from customers with a few quid credit balance sending 1 or 2 texts a month & a few minutes calls at 4p a go are they. I'm surprised they're offering refunds on credit. I don't think other companies have done this. They're still competitive on the PAYG rates compared to the bigger companies & so are their bundles & do have wifi calling.4
