Has anyone encountered this problem...?My OH and I both have a Google Pixel 4a phone and are on the £15 Free tariff. We both ported in our existing phone numbers to the new SIM. When I send a text the recipient sees my proper (ported in) number, but when my OH sends a text the recipient sees the SIM's original number, as shown on the packaging. This is despite the fact that the phone shows the correct number in Settings, and a text sent to her proper (ported in) number is received correctly. I'm at a bit of a loss to know what's happening.0

I got a SIM from RWG with a new number, I ported over my old number but when I logged into my RWG online account, the new RWG number was still shown there. I had to manually change it to the number I ported over. No idea if it will fix your problem, but it's worth a try...0 -

Contact RWG and they’ll get their porting team to look into it. (You should check that your wife is actually sending text messages and not using the RCS / Chat feature in messages ? If she set that up before the port, she’ll need to turn the chat feature off and then reconnect to register it under the ported number)0

So what could be different?
If oh sends your phone an sms it comes through as coming from the temporary rwg number? What happens if you call that number? What happens if you send an sms reply? What number is displayed if oh calls your phone? Is an sms app being used? Was the phone used with the old sim, or was it setup with the temporary rwg number?

I can say that if she calls my phone, I don't see the calling number as, because she's in my Contacts list, it displays "[OH name] Mobile". However, that must mean the 'ported in' number is being received because that's the only number given in Contacts for OH. Also of note, is that texts coming from say the dentist, who only knows my 'ported in' number, all come through correctly. It just seems to be outgoing texts that show the original SIM number if the recipient doesn't have her in their Contacts list (so shows the incoming number).BTW, an sms app isn't being used, only the native Pixel phone app.0 -

So my guess is it has nothing to do with rwg and the best bet is to put the phones side by side, open settings and Google account and see where hers is set different to yours.
As I can just about pilot my hand-me-up Samsung i think that's the limit of my technical knowhow. But at least one phone is set up right.
Edit: on Samsung account under profile info there is name and nickname could be something similar on your oh's?0 -
Display name? Maybe?
Was the account set up with the rwg sim before porting? Could it be she entered her current phone number as a display name presuming it would automatically update after porting?0 -
Just looking through my sms I have messages from George, bank, and credit card all using display names but not in my contacts so they have set those names not me.
Found a link which might mean something;
https://wiki.cloud.clicksoftware.com/cemd/generic-configuration/sms-display-name
Or this;
https://support.google.com/messages/thread/172400967/changing-name-in-google-pixel-messages-app?hl=en
Suggests clicking on my info in contacts on call app0
