I won,t use an unsafe browser, sooner just phone banking.
If it wasn,t for the £2mil limit I wouldn,t touch ns&I with a barge pole .it has always been trouble .
Will look see if opera is in Apple apps, but doubt my iOS 12 will support it, or be enough for ns&I to?

With 25 Million customers of NS&I there are bound to be some users having issues with legacy OS's or incompatible browsers, but the complaints I see on TrustPilot reporting login failures even after following NS&I's advice to switch to approved browsers etc. is concerning.
Some people are reporting successful logins followed by crashes when the software falsely accuses them of using the back button. Others are left high and dry when the system won't recognise valid key presses (for acknowledgement of their one time passcode.) Surely most of these issues could have been foreseen with proper testing, and ironed out before inflicting the 2-FA upgrade on Joe Public?
Since my own run-in with the 'too many devices' bug I've been able to access my account multiple times. However their software seems so flaky I'm not confident that will continue to be the case. I've even seen suggestions on lemonfool.co.uk forum (not yet proven) that a change of IP address such as might arise from having dynamic IP, could be interpreted as logging in from a new device and eventually exceed their arbitrary limit of authenticated devices. (OK, I'm aware that I could monitor my own device count and delete superfluous entries if needed.)
Three months of problems and barely any acceptance that there are flaws in the upgrade or any intention to address them.
No commercial business could operate in this way and so arrogantly dismiss the concerns of its customers.

You should always use a separate browser for banking than you use for your day to day browsing. It's a basic security measure. If you don't want to abandon firefox you can download a standalone version of it from portableapps.com and use that to do your online banking and your regular firefox for browsing your day to day dodgy sitesHow would the typical user know whether downloading a browser from that site was safe? Also, how does it handle browser updates and security fixes? Is the typical user meant to download and install a new version each time there is an update, or pass control of that to a third party? Also, it appears the site only provides downloads for use with Windows, which means Liunx users would have to use Wine (or similar) as well.Yes, answers to these questions can be found with some research, but going to a third-party to get a portable app with their platform, to then run with a Linux compatibility layer, doesn't seem to be the best way of improving security, and I hope that wasn't what NS&I had in mind when designing their latest changes. The "typical user" doesn't use linux/WINE. Windows has 80+% market share.Portableapps can automatically keep apps up to date.I didn't suggest a "typical user" would use Linux.I asked "How would the typical user know whether downloading a browser from that site was safe?". The site being the one you linked to.The point about Linux users was a separate one relating to the additional complications they would experience.

STILL NOT FIXED After not making any logging attempts for ages I tried again today. Still going round in circles - keeps going back to log in page after entering passcode. I've tried using both Chrome and Microsoft Edge (which has occasionally worked before). I'm on Windows 8.1
NS&I have been aware of this problem for months.
This is absolutely ridiculous.
It seems the engineers at NS&I have not got the wit to fix this.

Today's problem seemed to be their inability to send a passcode to my mobile, despite repeated attempts. Passcode via landline worked and let me in. My phone numbers have not changed and are in their preferred format. (+44 etc.)0

I thought i had it worked out tried to buy more bonds at the end of sept, crash , crash ,crash.I turned off duck-and go browser addon. This makes the actual log on process smooth and successful. But mine crashes as soon as i click on any link in the site."we are sorry we had to clear your information". and some rubbish about hitting my back button.????.Its definitely a browser issue. might try that Opera browser ..Will try another keyboard and mouse. Just in case its that. but i doubt it.But needs ruling out .So far i have been trying on same device and haven't had any warnings about devices. YETjust as the prizes have started coming back in . £200 in account 1 and £100 in account 2 . This month.2.2% interest rates should be even better.0
