I managed to find a helpful person from my installer who directed me to their schematics which show something close to my config.  Hopefully I won’t have to have the conversation with Scot Power about the battery energy can only ever come from the panels so it must be green! They can’t be so stupid as to think I would charge my batteries from the grid and sell it back at a hugely lower price……. would they?
Given that a number of people are saying that they are struggling to sign up, I suspect that discussions of that nature are going on. Octopus Flux doesn’t have this constraint: they are happy for consumers to charge their batteries overnight at 20p/kWh and export later in the day at 36p/kWh.

As it so happens, all my export is from the sun but I could force my PW2 into export mode between 4 and 7 pm.

Even the basic Octopus Go EV tariff gives you electricity at 9.5p per KWh for 4 hours at night. That is cheaper than the 12p SEG rate from Scottish power so if your battery storage would allow exporting you would make money. So understandable that they ask to show it can’t be done…

Scottish Power are just awful in all respects as far as I can see.  Not sure how easy it is for you guys to change to someone else, but if you can you'll avoid a world of pain!

Deep seated hatred of Scottish Power and all who sail in her - would love to see Ofgem grow a pair and actually do something about it.
  • Hi there, has anyone successfully completed the SEG process with SP? I'm half way there but can't add my bank details due to a mandatory certificate requirement. Unfortunately I've got no response from SP as to what this precisely is. Any advice gratefully received.

I spoke to SP FIT team member today.  He advised that for those who have made SEG applications they ARE catching up on the backlog.  He said that on 18 May 23 the team were looking at 24 Feb 23 dated applications.

I applied in October 2022. Application still in process and got an MPAN number a week ago. Exported nearly 1/4MWh since applied…
  • I applied originally in November 2022 - all info sent by email. Nothing, so I emailed SEG - they said since November they had new online process using the bot - so I did this - in Fevruary this year. Still nothing. I see on their site it looks like they have updated it further with pictoral info to help. I am sure I did get some info in the wrong boxes but still, nothing. Emailing them doesn't work. You can't just move - they've had months of power from me - I know it's small fry to them but it's a big thing for me. SP complaints department just say contact SEG - but they don't answer. It's hopeless!
