Depends if the VOA puts you at a larger size than 88m², otherwise no.annabanana82 said:I'm curious to know if I'll qualify for the broader group, based on the first part looks as though we will, but cannot work out the second, think probably not with a mid 50's semi at 88 square metres
Where is this table? As I can’t see this on page 15 this one makes a lot more senseSpoonie_Turtle said:

It's in the excel document, scroll down on the government page to below the eligibility statement.worrywart_3 said:Spoonie_Turtle said:

The 'table' on page 15 of the eligibility statement isn't a table at all, it just shows the bands they use for each characteristic.1 -
I found it after I posted thanks 😊1

The default is to use the VOA with the EPC only used on appeal. When we bought, we were about 80m2, since extending we are about 150m2 and have an EPC to support that from our solar install so looks like I will have to appeal as the cut off is 83m2 for our house type.annabanana82 said:
Look at EPC reports which can be found easily onlinemichaels said:
Really helpful. Now I just need to know how many m2 the VOA think my house is - anyone know if this info is available?Spoonie_Turtle said:
I haven't looked for a little while but in the details it was based on property age/type/size, and the threshold wasn't set as an absolute, it was a percentile so they didn't know at all where it would actually be set until they'd run the calculation.michaels said:Gov site says notifications will start going out from the 14th....
Can't find anywhere that details the 'high energy need' calc
Ooh, no, actually here are some resultshttps://www.gov.uk/government/publications/warm-home-discount-eligibility-statement-england-and-wales
See the property characteristics combinations document
The eligibility statement p.15 shows the categories they use.
(And full rationale/detail behind it all if anyone's curious https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/warm-home-discount-better-targeted-support-from-2022 )
Appeal line opens on Monday so perhaps I will try and call then before the rush....I think....0 -
Well it looks like the only way a flat of my size (using a neighbours EPC as nothing available for mine) would qualify is if it was built pre 1919... Even without knowing the VOA details I'm pretty confident that's correct.
Honestly it gave me a good laugh tonight!0 -
What the appeal line?michaels said:

Hello, does anyone know a way to view the exel spreadsheet on an ipad as it is not comparable with my ipad. My house is Victorian (1884), mid terrace L shaped, 3/4 bedrooms (one you walk through to get to bathroom), separate toilet - bathroom and toilet upstairs and very high ceilings. From front to back door it is approx 55 feet. At the moment bathroom (north facing) is 13 degrees and living room (south facing) 15 degrees and that is normal at the moment. Qualify on low income but no idea on house. Thank you.
edit: I have now measured my house and calculated the sq m. Which comes to 106.728 sq m (I measured floor area and did not account for internal walls)0 -
Received our letter this morning. 3 bed semi 1968 (no idea of m2). Letter type WHDS3, Octopus. Applicable to account 31/03/23.

Is the floor space based on sq m of the footprint of the property, or would you double that for a house vs bungalow (2 stories vs single story)??Auti said:Hello, does anyone know a way to view the exel spreadsheet on an ipad as it is not comparable with my ipad. Good question. I think based on our house's EPC measurement it's probably footprint. Bungalows are their own separate property type.NedS said:

@Auti here it is (obviously no guarantee, depends on whether the VOA measurement agrees with you)
