Gov site says notifications will start going out from the 14th....
Can't find anywhere that details the 'high energy need' calcI think....1 -
I haven't looked for a little while but in the details it was based on property age/type/size, and the threshold wasn't set as an absolute, it was a percentile so they didn't know at all where it would actually be set until they'd run the calculation.michaels said:Gov site says notifications will start going out from the 14th....

Ooh, no, actually here are some resultshttps://www.gov.uk/government/publications/warm-home-discount-eligibility-statement-england-and-wales
See the property characteristics combinations document
The eligibility statement p.15 shows the categories they use.
(And full rationale/detail behind it all if anyone's curious https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/warm-home-discount-better-targeted-support-from-2022 )3 -
Really helpful. Now I just need to know how many m2 the VOA think my house is - anyone know if this info is available?Spoonie_Turtle said:

I'm curious to know if I'll qualify for the broader group, based on the first part looks as though we will, but cannot work out the second, think probably not with a mid 50's semi at 88 square metres

There is no broader group unless you’re in Scotland. It’s now core group 1 and core group 2.1

Yes, but the eligibility statement says EPC and VOA measurements differ. (And not every property has an EPC, which is one reason they aren't using them to help decide.)annabanana82 said:

Our problem is that we don't know how old our house is. Housing Association says one thing, old OS maps say something completely different, and the style of architecture would put it in between both those dates. Looking on a property website, it had different sizes and ages for us and the house next door … which would be fine, except we're completely symmetrical semi-detached homes! So, no idea.0 -
Depends if the VOA puts you at a larger size than 88m², otherwise no.annabanana82 said:I'm curious to know if I'll qualify for the broader group, based on the first part looks as though we will, but cannot work out the second, think probably not with a mid 50's semi at 88 square metres
