NCP.....another PPC puts customers off returning to business venues

Even if customers of the Priory Hotel and Restaurant manage to comply with NCP's '10 minute to register VRM rule' it doesn't mean you won't receive a £100 PCN.
Customer Kim Hames said: “I've had two of these fines in as many weeks - one from the Harvester on Malpas Road and the other from the Priory.
“Both establishments had proof I had spent money and that I had also logged in correctly and both places had the fines removed.
“I will be very reluctant to risk parking anywhere that uses this parking company from now on. It is way too much hassle.”
Are businesses listening.....way too much hassle for customers to revisit your premises and car park.

HORRIFIED .... I like to listen to the Legal hour on LBC on Sat night
The Lawyer is Daniel Barnett giving advice
Tonight, 1st of June, his opening comment was NO PARKING TICKETS, just pay them ?????

You can listen back on GLOBAL PLAYER FOR FREE
I didn't listen because I didn't want to sign up with Global Player, but I googled him and found this from a year ago:

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kY2wfZohiGY

    What a total idiot.
I remember listening to the LBC legal programme talking about parking whilst waiting to pick up my now adult children from Scouts; they were saying you've accepted the terms of a cotnract so you've no choice but to pay even back then.

.... as it did in a similar pub in Wales.!

"We have had to buy ourselves out of the contract at a huge cost but it has been taken off today."

I went to a Miller & Carter Steakhouse when I happened upon it at Befdord last year and it was very good.
A few weeks later I was pleasantly surprised to happen across one at Maidenhead and decided to drop in there for a meal; I'd driven past it a number of times and not particularly noticed it before (I think it used to be a Harvester).
On entering the car park it was plastered with signs threatening penalties for not registering and so-on; TBH I couldn't be bothered reading the details, risking getting caught out whilst waiting for a table, and so-on, so I just turned around and went elsewhere.
I emailed them and gave them the feedback and they responded that they'd had a problem with non-customers using their car park for walks along the river.
Whilst I appreciate the non-customers issue, their solution means I am not a customer; I've driven past a number of times (and might even today) but not gone in.
It's a shame, because I would've liked to eat there, but I don't want to participate their parking scam.

This is rubbish anyway - there is a pub near me that has the same problem and they have a "terminal" by the front door - I've seen loads of people walk in, key their number into the terminal and then walk out again to go for their walk.

@DE_612183 You say you've "seen loads of people do this"
Did you actually follow these "loads of people" on their walk after you observed them key in their VRM then immediately leave the pub?

Difficult to see a customer doing this are you employed by the pub or the PPC to carry out this observational and following people activity?

If they did, it merely exposes the pointlessness of this rogue industry's lazy/lucrative reliance on AI camera and keypad remote systems which do nothing to deter trespassers and do far more harm than good, due to penalising and then aggressively suing real customers.

ANPR firms tell stupid retail parks that their remote system helps with security and deters 'boy racers', when those boy racers in fact just cover their number-plates or drive in/out 'nose to tail'.

I'm not condoning those drivers' conduct for one minute but if people are setting out to take the mickey, then they'll know how to do exactly that ... and it isn't rocket science.  Unlike the way PPCs sell their systems as if they are some sort of amazing new technology!

If you want a pub car park properly managed just get an honesty box and if necessary, someone to issue PCNs on foot.  And a barrier at night for security if that remains a concern.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
