A motorist's enjoyable day out ruined as Euro Car Parks signs fail to communicate to users their time on site is calculated from when their vehicle enters and leaves the car park, not the time printed on the ticket purchased.

(This forum gets a mention in the 'comments' below the article with one lady stating "The Money Saving Expert site has suggested template letters/emails to send to challenge these sorts of things.")

There is the blue text template appeal and the defence template (if Plan A fails) but we do recommend motorists writing their complaints in their own words.2

Smart Parking's error producing "state-of-the-art ANPR parking management system" puts visitors off returning to Pleasurewood Hills theme park.Families and thrill-seekers angry over parking charge errors. They feel like they have been "robbed” after being hit with £100 parking charges despite paying correctly for parking.Pleasurewood Hills say in the article"Our team have been happy to help and have been assisting with guests getting these queries answered and promptly resolved."
On Tripadvisor their response is less helpful"Our Parking charges have been in place for a number of months and operated by an external partner who handles appeals, this in not a process managed by the park.
Seems like they've learnt the PPC script.4 -
Foolish Pleasurewood Hills for not doing their homework first
No doubt yhey will lose a lot of business whilst SMART rule the roost3 -
Smart Parking again....another business affected by their ANPR parking management system.OK Diner in Wales saw their online ratings nosedive after Smart Parking began managing their car park in May.
Hit with a hefty £100 pcn furious customers gave negative feedback and vowed never to return to the OK Diner.Dafydd Lawrie, Director OK Diner provided a full response following the uproarhttps://www.walesonline.co.uk/whats-on/food-drink-news/diner-centre-row-over-265-29626961?int_source=nba#comments-wrapper
He states "team members have been trained to check that customers have entered their details into the tablet, we also have a mobile tablet for our staff to obtain customer registrations if they have not done so at the entrance."
If that's true (customers say it didn't happen) why is the vehicle data entered in the tablet not reaching or recognised by Smart Parking. Mr Lawrie needs to find out why and get it corrected if he is to stop the Diner's stream of poor reviews /ratings online and win customers back.5 -
SMART seem to ruin a lot of businesses
Dafydd Lawrie, Director OK Diner needs to kick out SMARTbefore his company goes bust

Looks like she ignored a court claim."I’ve ended up with a county court judgement of £270 and if I don’t pay then they’ll probably send someone round to obtain goods. I’m anxious over if someone tries to get into my home. It should have only cost me a fiver to get my car washed - not hundreds of pounds because of unfair fines. My credit score has gone right down because of this and it will be affected for at least three years."
She really doesn't understand much of this stuff! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
