@DE_612183 You say you've "seen loads of people do this"
Did you actually follow these "loads of people" on their walk after you observed them key in their VRM then immediately leave the pub?

Difficult to see a customer doing this are you employed by the pub or the PPC to carry out this observational and following people activity?

The key pad is by the entrance door - from where we usually sit you can see people come in and walk back out again, I guess they could go for their walk and then come and have a pint - but there is a tourist attraction about 5 mins away that changes £5.00 per car, so I did assume they went there, of course I could be totally wrong -  you obviously know better than me.

No I don't work for the pub or the PPC.

Southeastern postpone changes to parking system across Kent railway stations

“We have been reviewing customer feedback and it is clear the decision has caused some concern."

Trying to foist 'app payments only' on the public is potentially illegal and certainly against the will of Parliament.

It's astonishing that nobody properly considered the needs of the diverse group that is rail users. Southeastern: engage your brains and stop being so easily impressed by a parking firm's spiel about what they spin as amazing technology.

How is it that no landowners smell a rat when offered parking management 'free of charge'?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

SHOCKING. A response from MHCLG is needed to that report but please please don't let it include the Conservative brush off "in due course" words.

If I wanted more of the same I'd have voted Conservative I voted Labour for 'Change'.

    Hope I don't regret it.

Will any Labour Government jump to the beat of the DM?  Hopefully The Mirror/Guardian will run with the story in parallel.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

But surely everything is hunky-dory(sick) because the DVLA state to the ICO (16/11/23):-

"13. The DVLA conducts audits of parking operators to obtain assurance that
sufficient evidence of a parking contravention exists to justify the lawful
release of vehicle keeper information, and that the information is used
only for the purpose it was disclosed for."

    "14
. It holds regular meetings to discuss complaints received about the behaviour of private parking
    operators...…."

I can't get my head round the fact that we have ONE Government dept./MP's using all sorts of derogatory terms describing the misery caused by ppc's to motorists and trying to regulate the industry but at the same time TWO depts. of the same Government are given "nuclear buttons" to inflict this misery instantly.
