Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE now available on Lebara

I did get Lebara network team to activate Wi-Fi calling on my S20fe 5G and it was working . However, after porting out and then coming back to Lebara, the Wi-Fi Calling option is no longer there which is a shame.

Not happy sideloading dodgy Chinese apps that modify your system. We really shoild be pushing Google to fix this properly.
There is an open bug. If you want this fixed, add your comment here;

As I can not post links then simply search Google using terms 'reddit wifi_calling_on_pixel_7_pro' which should find the reddit post with details.
Hope that helps.0 -

From what I understand for WiFi calling to work on any network you need three things:
1. The phone itself supports WiFi calling
2. The network supports WiFi calling
3. The network reports that it supports WiFi calling for your particular phone
The third one is where it often falls down, and why phones work on some networks not others. With my Pixel 3a I had originally wanted to switch to Smarty (Three) but testing it out wifi calling didn't work, which is a deal breaker for me. But interestingly a Three payg sim worked perfectly straight away, even though they're the same network...!
Presumably networks need to enable some sort of flag for different devices, which they're possibly reluctant to do except for the small collection of phones they officially support to avoid getting loads of support questions about devices they haven't tested with etc, or because of particular agreements in place, or simply just lack of resources.
Part of the decision process the phone does is:
Check if your carrier supports Wifi-Calling
If not, return false
Else continue
I think all that the Shizuku/Pixel IMS does is hardcode that logic to just say true all the time. I've used the same patch to make Wifi calling work on both Smarty and Lebarra so far with no issues. On Smarty I didn't need the extra step to go into settings and turn on the other toggle so yeah, lots of random variables at place for the dark art of WiFi calling to work!0 -
