My Solstice Wish
My solstice wish for you this year is this:
That your feet and your heart stay warm, don't let the world make you cold.
That you know how strong you are and stop doubting yourself
That you are able to feel at home, safe and loved in your own skin.
That you find your purpose in life and go for it with everything that you are. You were put here for a reason.
That you make time to enjoy the little things in life. Breathe them in.
Surround yourself with good people, bright souls, that make you feel wanted and loved.
And you know you are worth loving for exactly who you are.
Let me repeat. You are worth loving exactly as you are

Today I am grateful for my counsellor, for my gym membership, for the gazebo from Sat that I thought needed drying out before returning to its owners only needing to be aired, for getting some reports written, for no longer meeting up with a friend while dc is at youth group which means I can come home and do a few more reports, for not having the tech issues that other teachers are having with Sims.

Evening Turtles. Another NSD today, I am on a roll! Had some spots on my side which were hurting and feeling really sensitive so I cheekily asked the doctor when I took one of my customers to his appointment this morning to have a look and turns out I have shingles! Luckily I have some cream left over from when DD had a huge insect bite under her eye last year which is also used for shingles so I have been using that. My own doctors were useless, there were no appointments, no telephone appointments and the e consult thingy told me I had to go to the doctors. Think I will just see how things go.
Spent some time in the garden moving things around and potting a hebe that wasn’t looking happy in the ground. Cleaned the barbecue and tightened all the screws up as DS2 has asked if he can have a barbecue while we are away.
Today I am grateful for my customers lovely doctor who didn’t seem to mind that I wasn’t her patient, having some cream to start treating myself and the garden looking lovely.10 -

Well I seem to have found some cooking mojo - abandoned the recipe box ideas (my booklet of recipes has disappeared) and just pulled out things from the front of the fridge, used them and moved on to the next thing I saw. So large fresh tomatoes and some onions made into pasta sauce (bit watery so may be used as a base with other things chucked in), kettle on and all the baby potatoes halved and put to boil. Had one and a half large pots of yoghurt so half a pot with mint sauce added to make potato salad and the remaining potatoes have been divided into 3 little bags and frozen (I don't buy bags but I'm still using up mum's stash). Still thinking of simple things so filled a large oven dish with onions, peppers, carrots, half a courgette and some slices of aubergine and 'roasted' them in the oven using a low cal salad dressing that's been around for a while (bb last August). Sliced the rest of a large aubergine, put a slightly overlapping single layer in another dish (they fit on the shelf side by side) and finished the salad dressing on that.
Tin of tomatoes and more onions done in the microwave to layer on top of the aubergine and 2 eggs added to another half a yoghurt for the top (think it should have had cheese on but I didn't feel like grating it). Sweet potatoes were cooked in the same water the baby potatoes had been in and then mashed. Found steak (think that was the recipe box 'father's day' idea and I had so much trouble getting the website to make the changes I wanted that I let that one pass). No frying pan (I put it in the DW to clean but no idea where the DW emptier might have put it - mine is hidden away as don't want them to ruin it) so put the steak in the oven (half for lunch with a mountain of 'roast' veg, half to be turned into curry). Chillies were chopped and zapped in the microwave for 20 seconds - will be frozen in ice cube trays. Swede nearly made me cry last week - so hard to cut - so I stabbed the top and bottom with the veg peeler and did that in the microwave for 5 minutes. nearly everything is portioned up and in the freezer.
In between I've put washing on the line, trotted up and down the yard with recycling and rubbish, emptied the dishwasher (I knew where the oven dishes were), made one phone call and written one letter (mum stuff), returned 2 library books, picked 3 more (all tech related), took 2 small bags to the cs, written stock cards for more records (beginning to dislike Beethoven, a lot), read my book and did lots of sitting down. Just spent an hour in the garden (much too hot earlier) and my food shop just arrived (all inside 9 minutes before the start of my slot). Think I'll go upstairs once the freezer stuff is away.
Grateful for lots of bits to reuse, chopping veg and making up dishes, SM shop for more variety.10 -

Woo hoo double figures at last! A miserable start to the day, but it brightened up & was quite warm 😃 woke early but decided not to exercise, instead I took some things from my bedroom out to the shed & brought in my box if summer clothes to sort after work. Found some paperwork to photocopy for DS2"s bursary too. A good day at work, I even joined in playing Dodgeball to make the teams even numbers 🤣 put some winter clothes into the box & took it back out to the shed. Did some sewing after tea.
Grateful for the sun coming out, a good day, saying no to a tricky sewing job, but doing another insteadUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃
